Going to Sturgis from Oregon

Just checking... Has anyone taken the trip from between Washington State and Northern California to Sturgis in August? I will be going the 2nd week in August this year, and I would like to pack as lightly as possible.

Did anyone wish for or was glad they brought rain gear? Have any suggestions on specific pieces of road to behave on?

Any input would be appreciated!

u takin the busa? I wonder what kind of reception sport bikers get there? Perhaps were should organize a busa ride out there and stake our claim :)P!

I am taking the 'Busa to Colorado (1275 miles) to hook up with a buddy with a '98 ZX-9, and then we are going up to Sturgis (420 miles) the next day. I'd love to see some fellow board members there! I'll be wearing a hayabusa.org shirt, so I should be hard to miss. I'll probably be the only guy there not wearing a leather vest too.

I rode from SD to WA last summer with no rain gear but i never hit any rain either i was on the road for 2 weeks guess i was just lucky came close in yellow stone i figured if it started raining just pull into the next town i have riden in rain before and as long as you have the helmet and gear on it's really not that bad

As for sturgis there will be more there then you think sport bikes that is it's not the major ruff ya up just because you don;t have a harley place anymore unless ya really test some people paitence granted this hills are harder to manuver because of the harleys and other cruisers all over but there are times you can sneak out there i hope to be there just have to get my grain harvest done if ya need some info give me a pm hope to see ya there and have a great trip
