Good for a chuckle...

So I've already got a quote from my existing company (USAA) for a 2004 Busa, which weighs in at a stratospheric $1230.33. Figure the only reason is because I'm in Germany. I'm not happy about it, but it's full coverage (and then some)  for my Autobahn rocket so... Fug it.

A buddy of mine just bought a ZX-6 off me and went to a (different) insurance company to get his. I figured I'd just ask for kicks - I was shocked by the response!
31 year old single male with pristine driving record (no tickets or claims for at least 7 years), been riding for 9 years.  The quote?  $5483.27!!!!    Made me think of all those teenagers who walked out of my old dealership "head hung low" because insurance was too expensive for that brand new GSX-R 750...

Man, where do they come up with these numbers???  50% of the bike value yearly?  I can see it for a teen, but for me?  Come on...

you poor guys are getting hammered!!!!State side 820.00 full coverage....Maximum liability and uninsured under insured 184.00 a year. Both are with no layoff full 12 months you ride if you dare.

Well it's getting to the point of all Ins. Prem's. being outrageous...I've gat a descent rate @ $662 yearly, but I guess that could change at renewal time...

I'll have to send you some of my Karma. USAA is charging me $105 and change every six months for full coverge on my '03 Busa, with a multi-bike diiscount.

I'm feeling the same sting in Ks. The Insurance Co. I had went belly up! So I had to find another company. Shell Shock my friend, as my insurance went from $475 a year to $668........... I've got a perfect driving record no tickets, wrecks, or claims in over 15 years! Oh forgot to mention on a 2000 Busa.

You can thank all of the nice people that wreck their bikes doing stunts and have them completely replaced with insurance money. Isn't it great knowing that we all have to pay for the irresponsible few?

I'm 23 with USAA and pay $260 for six months, perfect record of course!

As for your rate, that isn't bad at all for riding on the AUTOBAHN! I would be willing to pay that if we only had one in the states. That and stricter driving laws to get some of these dumb asses off the road that think it's their RIGHT to drive. :cussing:

Have fun and be safe, man I miss the AUTOBAHN! :super: :super:
