He had been having issues with his gear position sensor crapping out, limiting his boost at playtime. The boost controller uses the signal from the gear position sensor to dole out proper amounts of GO! depending on what gear he's in, not having that reference resulted in the bike limping around with only 300hp or so. First world problems.
Got to see my first lock-up clutch assembly in person as it came apart to reach the gear position sensor. Very cool guts in there! Here are some pics I took for Rubb during disassembly.
