Got the bug again

For those who dont remember, my last attempt at drag racing ended on the dyno with a broken vavle spring retainer and a completely toasted motor.

Well here lately (call is cabin fever) I have been looking into the MiRock street class. Seems I can do what ever i want to the motor, keep a factory front end, no ballast, no wheelie bars, no slipper clutch. Just wondering how many if any race in this class? And how competitive it is a well. Looks like most bikes are in the low 8's high 7's. So what do ya know?

Sorry to hear about the Bike , I guess the term if you want to play got to pay , dont know about the Class you want want to run , but hear in Sacramento raceway they wouldnt let me run with out a full body suit , good luck in your search for the speed thrill and keep in safe.

If it is the MiRock class I'm thinking of it is pretty competitive. I personally would have to shy away from any heads-up class. 1 I'm too fat. 2 It it way too expensive for my hobby budget to compete. I'd have to stay with a E.T. Bracket or Index to be able to afford it.

As for the MiRock racing, they have a ET Street class. Rules seem to not exist on that class. Pretty much no slider cluthes, snell 95 helmet, faster then a 10.99 leathers are required. Mentions nothing about the bike, the class index, or any other rules. Heck I could take a ex prostock bike, drop in a mild motor and run dead on every pass. Looking at the results from last year it is between a 11.0 slowest to a 8.9 fastest all year.

yea what he said, i run it quiet often on my vrod along with a couple other friends on vrods. its no different than any other bracket race except for the competition. don't get me wrong i'm not scared of any rider no mater how many races/championships they've won. but you'll be paired up with the likes of rickey gadson, bay bay yarborough and many others that are pretty good. i see they upped the purse in pro et to 2000$ the difference is street et is a full .500 tree and pro et is a .500 pro tree. i'll be running street et this coming year if i'm physically able. i haven't recovered from a crash back in april yet.

i'll be happy to help you any way at the track if i attend some just to watch or race.

Sounds good, will see what the funds look like here soon. The old lady has given me the ok. All I will need is maybe a enclosed trailer set up as a race trailer, then prep the bike. If I do go ahead with it this year, I am not looking to set the MiRock world on fire. Will use it as a learning curve and make up a resume to try and get sponsors before I step up to a points class.

I ran Street ET in the MIROCK series last year and its a great beginner class. The major rules for the class
1 No wheeelie bars
2 no delay boxes or 2 step or launch control
3 no slider or multi stage clutches
Tech inspection was easy, they checked my safety gear, and you had to have a MIROCK sticker on both sides along with you class and bike #.
Very competitive class. I went to the July race and on saturday we had 140+ bikes and on Sunday there was 150+

Sounds like your talking about the real street class. It is a very tough and highly contested class but very fun. 7.90s-8.0s consistent will keep you up front, at least last year lol :beerchug:
