Gotta love tornados!!

So when did Massachusetts become part of tornado alley!? We've had 4 confirmed touchdowns in the past hour. Governor just called a state of emergency and will call National Guard to affected areas. One of the touchdowns was in Sturbridge which is about 10 miles from where we live.

Its global warming. Seriously though, I hope all come out all right, we live with them every year and they are not to be taken lightly.

And Al Gore invented tornadoes .... just in case you guys didn`t know that.

In all honesty though. They are no joke man. I live in effn tornado valley. They don`t discriminate...but the damage they do is VERY interesting sometimes. We had a really bad one touch down about 15 miles south of here, and just absolutely destroyed an entire subdivision. The part I remember the most, was a huge oak tree that was uprooted and laid over....the root ball was probably 8 feet high laying there, but not 2 feet from the massive hole it left...was a teeny weeny little, child planted `easter egg tree` with little plastic eggs hung on it with yellow and blue ribbons. The egg tree was completely untouched. Baffled me lol

Please don't hide in a bathtub, get below ground or get out of the way.
Some idiot came up with the bathtub shelter years ago. We had a mother and her three children do this. 2 of the children were killed, the mother and one child survived. All she had to do was drive a mile down the road and none of them would have been harmed.

This is crazy! tornado touched down 20 min away. Were in a state of emergency. the hospital I work at issued a mass casualty annex.

Ha! Tornado warning just came on about 30 min ago for area north of Sac. And they don't have tornadoes in California. All flatlands over there. I'm at 3000 ft so no tornadoes here.

But coldest spring we've had in at least 10 years. Most rain too. Crazy weather. Snowpack is 180% of normal in the Sierra.

The one that touched down in Sturbridge was just about in my back yard. I watched the funnel form as it hit on one side of I 84 and then cross the highway and went behind the Public House which is where it hit that Days INN hotel. Thankfully it turned and went towards Southbridge. I know it just about wiped out the small airport they have.

We came out of this without damage......sub pump is still going, but that's about it. I drove home after the last storm only for a thunderstorm to show up 5 min later.....lots of lightning with that one!
