Hey everybody.

I was wondering if anybody can give me some insight on to which GPS (Global Positioning System) would be the best to go with.  One that I could just put in the top clear pocket of my tank bag, that has a clear readable screen while riding, will light up at night time, and has the most accurate speed sensor(if that makes sense).  Maybe a top speed indicator as well....

I might also get a mount, but I would want a mount that I can remove while not on the highway, ya know while I am cruising in the city so some punk doesn't decide to steal my GPS or break the mount off.

Thanks for the help guys, this sight rocks!!!!

If you wanna go cheap (like me try the Garmin Etrex or Garmin Legend. Each will run you around $100 on Ebay. The Legend is slightly better (thus more expensive) than the Etrex but both are for us budget-type folk.

If you want to get the best and can afford it, get the Garmin Zumo 550. It is pricey but comes with a mount for your bike as well as for your car. This is not a cheap GPS by any means. It is specifically made for motorcycles and has a refresh rate that makes it perfect for a speedometer too. I did a lot of research and even talked to techs at Best Buy & Circuit City and was told that out of the three major brands of GPS, they had less of the Garmins come in for warrenty work than any others. Do a Google search and the reviews rate the Zumo as the best for a motorcycle. Very easy to read even in direct sunlight!

+1 On the Garmin Zumo 550. Has everything you need. I have used it more in the car/truck but I have the the bike mount installed and its quick and easy to remove. Comes with a little case that easily fits in pants pocket when you get where your going. Touch screen operation that is easy to use while gloved.
