GPW, I've got a question

Hey Greg, I had a few questions on the Rizoma grips since you had them on your 06' busa. I was wondering if they are a simple installation or if they require additional modifications. I also would like to know how sturdy they are. I like the stock grips for the fact they are very secure feeling in my hands and I'm too nervous to install aftermaket grips only to have them feel sloppy in my hands when i'm railing pretty hard. I like the look of the all black grips and I assume you can get them. Also if you could PM me a price, that would be great. Thanks, Justin.

takes a little drilling and fanaglin. If memory serves me correctly you can feel more vibration in the bars.

You also will need the bar ends from rizoma.

GPW will chime in here..

exactly what I was trying to avoid. I hope Greg can talk me into them. I don't want to sacrifice that "safe feeling" for looks at all.

Honestly they look sharp but they do increase the buzz in your hands at 5K and they are not plug and play.....some drilling is involved.

Thanks for your honesty. After hearing the comments I figure they wouldn't be my most practical buy. Man they do look sexy though.

I have a question as well will these grips work with a Throttlemeister? Or do I have some custom work ahead of me!

what drilling is required? (think i asked b4 but dont remember response & too lazy to search 2nite) as i didnt have to for my install

you will need rizoma bar ends & GPW's antivib kit works awesome

You should have had to drill a hole for your throttle assembly to avoid spinning the unit around on the grab bar. The vib kit does help. Great grip but a little buzzy. Problem magnifies with an aftermarket triple clamp, without the OEM triple clamp vib bushings. The direct clamp to the forks...makes your hand go numb after a short ride. But if you get gel gloves they sure do look sharp...perfect for the strip or a track day not a three day trip.

Stockers work for me.

They are a pain in teh azz to install because they come as a universal fit.Meaning that the set is made to be used on more than the hayabusa. And like Greg said, you will need to drill a new hole for the plastic pin that protrudes from the switch housing.
And the bar ends look nice, but aren't worth a dang as far as stopping vibration.....

(Revolution @ Feb. 03 2007,07:23) dem dere shure look purdy tho
I agree thats why I went with them. If you could get heavier bar ends to work they would be fine.

Hey black, I don't know if you saw the thread at the time but Greg stocks Spider racing grips in black that look and feel great on the bike. A riding book I just read listed grips as the first thing you should replace on a bike because that is the primary control point of contact. Makes sense!
I went with the Spiders, love 'em. Much more feel, and tack to them- feels like the gloves stick to them so you don't have to grip as hard and your arms don't get tired as fast.

Those do look comfy. I have always used stock grips cause they are made to fit the throtle tube perfectly. I just hate the feeling of the grip not totally glued to the clip-on. I replaced my dirtbike grips all the time cause they would usually start to spin after a few rides, no matter how much wire or glue I used. I might look into those spider grips though.

Hey Black, I picked these up cheap on ebay. There my 2nd set only because the red faded after one season. Very comfortable and a little bigger diameter thant he stocks. Pretty soft but fit great. I never used any type of adhesive and the grips have never moved. 1st set had about 14K miles on them. They do come in all black. I will buy another set when I need some.
