Great cruise control for \'Busa

I recently installed a NEP CC-4 single cable cruise control made for Suzukis on my '00 Hayabusa. It cost about $18 and is available from tucker rocky.
It works great and is pretty much unnoticable!
The only bad thing about the finished job is that the grip had to be peeled away from near the starter button area and couldn't be put back due to the cruise control now taking up that space.

No photos of the finished installation but it looks great and allows you to shake out your hand when you need to.

Had a throttlemeister on my K1200RS. It looked neat but wasn't very convenient to use. I much prefer the less expensive, easier to use throttle locks. My two cents.

Blue2busa, The NEP that I installed on my bike is the exact same thing as a vista. I didnt have to modify this one at all though, just snapped it on and tightened it up.
I had a vista on my gsxr-1100. You're right when you say "I can't live without it".

Mabusa, that is great. I looked all over everywhere looking for a vista cruse for any bike. I findly found one in a honda shop for some honda. That is why I had to modify it. I would buy one like you have if I knew where to get it.

FAST_EDDIE---This NEC CC-4 doesn't require any cable or modification to the existing throttle does it?
EDDIE, IT REQUIRES NO MODIFICATION AT ALL. IT JUST SNAPS ON AND YOU TIGHTEN THE ADJUSTER SCREW TO THE DESIRED TENSION.

If memory servers me correctly, isn't it setup like a clamp type device on the throttle?
THAT'S CORRECT. IT PINCHES THE THROTTLE SLEEVE JUST ENOUGH TO HOLD THE THROTTLE IN A GIVEN POSITION.

Hey MaBusa,

Thanks for the e-mail and info. I ended up finding the NEP CC-4 at my local dealer after all. $18.95 is pretty cheap for a working cruise control. :^)

Works great and install only took all of about 1 minute!! The only drawback, if any, is that you have to peel the grip back slighly off it recessed groove. Who cares!

Thanks for the tip. The single cable model works fine.

I'll post pic's up on my website (www.mountainbikes.net/ed) when I get a chance. BTW, this is an IE only website.

Last night made a slight change to the "Choke" (really a fast idle)on mine. Backed the stop screw all the way out and slipped a small piece of clear vinyl tubing over the little shaft that the "Choke" cam rides against. This was enough of a change to allow me cruising speeds. I used it today on my way into work. Works fine, I was able to cruise at 70 MPH no problem.

I'll be installing a cruise control on my busa soon, I had a throttlemister on my zx11 it was sweet, bar end replacement type, it was polished, easy to use, couldn't tell it was cruise control. I'll check out the others you guys mentioned first before i decide!
