I've been reading hayabusa.org now for about 6 months, and I really appreciate the positive tone of the posts and helpful information.

I started out with an old Yamaha Virago 750 which I rode around for four years, traded that in on a Katana 600 and rode that around for 2 years, traded that in on a GSXR 600 and rode that around for 3 1/2 years and now I have my Busa. I just picked up the 2006 Red and Black on Saturday. I've been meaning to post and say hello since then, but couldn't stay off the bike long enough. This thing rocks.

It really is all that I thought it would be. Can't wait to start on some mods. I really like the look of the fairing grills that are sold on eBay. Two kinds seem to be popular, the chrome grills ( <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/SUZUKI-HAYABUSA-GSXR-1300-CHROME-FAIRING-SCREENS-GRILLS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34284QQ
itemZ4628414498QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW" target="_blank">eBay Chrome Grills</a> )and the aluminum grills ( <a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PRE-FORMED-Hayabusa-GSX1300R-Fairing-Screens-Grills_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ35580QQitem

Does anyone have any experience with these two types? I'm wondering if the chrome is really that much more noticable than the aluminum to justify the price. I also wonder how hard they are to clean and will the chrome eventually dull to look the the aluminium?

Again, great site. I look forward to reading, posting and learning more about my bike.

Cheers

Great to have you on board, and congrats on the Busa! You'll definitely enjoy her. Mine's 100% stock, so you'll have to wait for the other good members to respond for some excellent advice.

Welcome, and you can enjoy the heck out of the bike just the way it is for some time to come.

And you must know after being around here for months that a photo of all the new busas is required ...

As for the grills, the above links arent working it says item has been removed or is no longer available. My thought is the alluminum ones may be like a set I bought on ebay last year and they we not pre-formed they were just cut peices of gutter screen and that I already had from Lowes. 50 ft roll was only $3.99 and thats whats on my busa.
Now if ya want bling, pep boys has some custom grill chrome peice thats really nice. 1 big peice is like $40.

Trying to repost the links. Hope it works. Tried to test them in Preview Post, but it just displays the html code.

Yeah, I'm really into mods. My old gixxer was looking really nice before I traded it. Actually, that's what sealed the deal on the Busa. The dealer threw two brand new Yoshi RS-3 cans, and mounted them for free before the bike left the door. Four time repeat customer. All bikes mentioned above were purchased at the same place. Trans Am's the same way, but all performance mods, no appearance ones.

Thanks for the pep boys idea. Might swing by this weekend and see what they have.

Cheers
