Grounding elec items

It is ok to drill a hole in the round tube framework that the rear plastic mounts to / rear seat area... bolt or weld a stud and use that to ground elec items such as pc3, ign module, lights, alarm...etc?

Please share any other suggestions for clean wiring...my goal is to avoid having 4-5 ring terminals attached to the (neg) batt post.

You could just run one bigger guage wire from the batt neg back to the rear and ground everything off that. Its always the best bet to ground off the battery if possible. Or spend the money/effort and go the fuse block route

My wording was incorrect and I did not edit in time...

I was asking "Is it ok to have stud on the frame as a ground for elec items"

It will work but I would suggest a second wire going directly to the battery ground as well to the frame

I wouldn't feel comfortable drilling a hole in my frame. . . Maybe it's just me, but I'm not a big fan of drilling holes in the backbone of the bike.  Although, any existing bolt that goes to the frame will do just fine.  If you have a meter or test light, check the bolt you plan on grounding to, to make sure it's a good ground. Goin to the neg. terminal on the battery doesn't really make any diff.  In fact, I'd RATHER do it somewhere else to keep from having other random stuff at the battery connection.  But if I were going to go that route, I'd either use an aux. fuse pannel or like the other guys said and run a single wire/ring terminal from the batt. and use the other end for your acc.

Don't drill frame components and ground or run the negative off the battery.
