GSXR-1000 vs TT Viper

Mo-man -

That was the stock bikes first mistake!! LOL!
Calling out a twin turbo viper.... LOL!

Anyways. Nice Viper for sure. Thanks for sharing.
How could you call it a stock bike....he had a slip on didn't he

I read one of his posts that the guy he raced was one of his buddies that he use to ride with.
I think that was more of an attempt to vouch for his skills. Still dont know man i saw a video on kaos.com of a tt viper barely beating a stock busa and another of a busa with a pipe and pc mopping the floor with the busa. And the busa with the damn Motor work done...Whooooooooo!

I think the one you're referring to was Manny's supercharged Viper that was racing the busas. He was beat by one with a pipe/pc and ran even with a stock one. If I recall, his has around 8-900 rwhp.

There is a bit of competition in the Viper world between tuners/owners that advocate superchargers versus those that advocate turbos (1 or 2).

BA BUSA:
From the car owners point of view, the measure of success isn't how much or little you spend, but how well you hold your own against the fastest stock street bikes. Everyone accepts that it costs more to push 3300 lbs than 400. The busa/gixxer is a known quantity and the car is measured by it's ability to keep up. You can find bikes that are fast enough to give a car like this a run for it's money (in fact, beat it), so bikes become a substitute for stock Corvettes that really aren't competitive (apologies to any Vette owners...love'em too). You can be sure to see lots of races with the new Z06 when it comes out

It's not about disrespecting bikes, it's the ultimate respect!

Yeah thats the one im talkin about with the black viper...man that car was hot as hell. Id just like to see someone else run with the Gixxer to see just how fast he is. Reminds me of a guy i know talks big game but aint bout shid. Also on his site he says the gixxer pulls harder than the busa at 70. I really dont think thats the case but hey i could be wrong

After reading all those dramatic posts I went and watched the video...I was expecting to see something really life like and convincing.

Anybody notice the white semi in the last race? Why does the Viper pass the bike and semi at about the same time and then all of sudden you get a rear shot of the bike about a mile away and he's still right by the damn semi?

"Not a race...not even a race" Maybe because it really wasn't a race?

No doubt that this guy has a fast car, but this was not a real race.

Ok i just finished reading over at the viper forum theyre pretty proud of themselves. I did notice the gixxer not out accelrating the semi but maybe he had TT also. I think its a marketing scheme. Give some homeless guy a motorcycle and pay him a few bucks to throw the race and bammm you just sold yourself 2 tt packages for 30K a piece. And i must say if offered a 1k to throw a race i defintaly would.

Impressive car...however I know of a few Busa's that make over 600HP that would like to race him...they run in the 7's and some run 256MPH at the top...lets take a modded Viper against a similarly modded Busa...

Ask the Viper driver if he can do this:

256MPH Busa

Feel free to post this video over at the Vioer site...lets see how they react. BTW, 8.75 is insane fast for a car, but streetbike Busa's are still running in the 7.2's

Well let's see you are comparing a 100,000 dollar + car highly modified viper to a stock 10,000 dollar bike now if that guy wants to run apples to apples let's see him run a turbo Busa. Hell the busa is giving up one turbo that would be an even playing field.  This car is producing around 1300 horse power to a bike producing mid 150's come on. Hell the turbo busa only makes what 300+ horse, that I would pay to see !!

They want a "stock_vs_stock" race...any stock looking turbo busa versus their 8.75 second Viper. Rich Yancies (sp?) Maxton bike looks painfully stock sans the paint job...its 425+ hp on stock wheelbase and fairings.

####, now that we have Busa's in the 600+ HP range it would be very fun to watch....through the Viper would be filming the race out of the front window...you would hear comments like..."what's that black dot on the horizon in front of us?...oh, its that turbo Busa we were racing"

As most here, I thought the race was BS. It looked like in one run that the gixxer guy came up out of his semi tuck and had given up for a second and then decided to get back on it, which would automatically open up a huge gap for the viper. Also, where is the data showing that a Gixxer 1k will in anyway pull a Busa from 70-170? I don't think so. As for how much money, who the f*ck cares. Thats a crutch that us bike guys seem to want to lean on whenever we come across a bad ass car. Generally if someone has enough money to drop $30,000+ on top of the purchase price of a Viper. They could probably afford the $11,000 purchase price of a busa and the addition $10,000+ to turbo it and make it bad ass. So who the hell cares if it costs 10x as much as a busa, its a car. If I buy a $5,000 bike does that instantly make all challenges by a busa null and void because new they cost twice as much? Flawed logic.

Yeah, I don't know why this is so hard to understand, and why people get so defensive. The point isn't that a Viper is faster than a bike, just that THIS particular car, with the mods he's added, is faster that this particular STOCK bike. THAT ALONE IS IMPRESSIVE - FOR A CAR. We ALL know (including the Viper owners) that a bike is faster than a Viper....UNTIL you put $XX,000 in it and take it to ~1,000rwhp. This principle would apply to just about any car. The stock bike is merely a yardstick to measure the Viper (or any car) against. If you modify the yardstick (turbo busa, nos, blah, blah) then how can you measure? You might as well race the Viper against a Top Fuel car.....the modded busa will win.

There are a lot of cars/bikes that go faster than this Viper. The impressive thing is that the technology now allows cars to produce ~1200+ horsepower and remain streetable. When they say streetable, they mean sitting in rush hour traffic, air conditioning, stereo system, everything! They feel like they could be competitive with just about any bike short of one that's been modded past the point of everyday drivability.....at least competitive. Whether you prefer bikes or cars this is pretty cool

Agreed...that is a good point. I think everyone here gets defensive because we are the king the hill when it comes to measuring sticks for performance as you described...we get this all of the time...my car beat a Busa...blah, blah and then after the BS gets circulated we get every moron out there thinking they can beat a Busa because there idiot friend bent the truth a little.

This car is one of the exceptions to the rule...it obviously has enough power and performance to give most stock bikes (including a Busa here and there) a run for their money.

I have also seen 6-second door slammers (somewhat street legal) run before so it is not to far off to see a car that can run with even a modified Busa.

Remember though, there are plenty of street legal Busa's out there that run in the 7's and top out in the 240+ range...let us know when a street-legal car. Viper or other, is close to this level of performance...

why roll on??? with a car that impressive should be 0-200+ and all cameras in the car mounted on the dash
biggrin.gif

Okay that's like taking a knife to a friggin gun fight. I love the 1k, but it will not out accelerate a Busa up until 170, maybe until 130 but come on. He played himself and please tell me someone in that area is going to give this guy a beat down.

This is equivalent to a guy in a Nissan 300Z challenging me yesterday on the highway. I don't even need to say what the results were. Busa 1, 300z 0

Somebody has got to get this clown!
laugh.gif

I would do some roll ons with him. My bus is 238 rwhp so it is not a high hp turbo bike. I agree the car is fast and am not saying that the car could not beat the stock 1000 but I don't see it beating him by that much. Really awesome car though.
