handlebar vibration

Keep the front wheel off the ground. Works wonders.

Helibars, or Heavier bar ends. Check your front tire pressure as well. Make sure its okay. :beerchug:

I dont leave my rpms in that range. Usually I can ride all day and not have any issues. Change gears, speed up or slow down.

Pretty much that range does have a little bit more buzz to it. After remapping the bike after changing pipes that buzz is gone..But I also put on helibars and heavy bar ends and I'm still with oem grips and feel no problems..

The guys with the grip puppies, can you take them off and re use them? I'd like to only use them on long rides then take them off. Can this be done, or are they garbage after you take them off?

You can, there's no glue, kind of like a condom. But once you try it you won't take it off, unlike a condom:rofl:

The buzzing comes from the bars shaking from sympathetic vibration when the engine produces specific frequencies. Adding weight to the bars will shift those frequencies lower to a place where the engine does not produce much vibration. Some folks install fancy aluminum bar ends for looks without realizing that they are screwing up the vibration control that those heavy steel ends were meant to fix.

You can find a bolt that slides inside your bars and pack it in tight with rubber from an inner tube. Some folks use silicone caulk, but this is sort of permanent and won't let you experiment. I filled the clip ons on my Harley XLCR-clone with bird shot. It seemed to work better with the shot just a little loose instead of packed tight.

Here's a fancy, sort of high tech solution that I've wanted to try, but am too cheap. Vibranator What I like about this design is that you can adjust them to dampen out the specific band of frequencies that most bother you. Technically, I think this is a very good design.

With all of the suggestions posted above, each of them will work. One that is free that I learned to use on my GSX-R 600 that vibrates worse than, well it vibrates a lot.

Anyway, loosen your grip a bit on the bars. Don't hold on to them like you have a death grip on them. Relax, the bike will steer itself for the most part.

true that:thumbsup:

the last owner of the bike added spike bar ends to it, i wonder if they are light and i should replace them with haver ends.

when folks on the other gixxer forums look for heavier bar ends for their bikes they start searching for the stock busa ones cause they are so heavy. If you dont have those get them or the like and then see. Makes a big difference for sure!

Okay. OMG! Soooo glad I bought these things. Thanks for the suggestions. I dont care about the feel as much as just changing the diameter of the grips is exactly what I wanted. With my alpinestar gloves I always griped cause they were a touch tight across the knuckles and I always got hand fatigue just with gripping the bars from those gloves. With the larger diameter I can grip like I want without hand fatigue

Sounds like good reviews...time to go shopping! Like others have said, loosening your grip helps a bunch, I also took the Throttle Rocker off my old bike, and think it would be helpful on longer rides...or the cruise controll mod.

The grip puppies work really well. Still have some vibes but not as bad as befor and I still have the light spike Bar ends on.
