I am thinking of ordering a set of the Handy Stands. It asks if you want bobbin or rubber pad support. Which works best? I know some people here have them.

Go with the spools. They support the bike more securely and the bike can't slip off of the spools. A friend with an R1 just had his bike slip off of the pads and fall into his garage wall - can you say broken fairing?

If you go with the bobbins co you have to order seperate spools?

bill go bobbins..... i have both and like bobbins better

For what it is worth.. I have the pads... I have had the bike up in the air on both stands, rocked it back and forth, started the engine, put it in gear, never even came close to having a problem.

Now if you dont get the pads in the right place you might have a problem.

My wife got them for my birthday for me, and she ordered them over the phone, the salesperson asked her what she wanted, she said she didnt know and he recommended the pads. He told her if I prefered the bobins I could swap them out.

I have the pads and I can't see how the 'Busa could possibly slip off. The fit is so tight when mounted properly that it's tough to get the stand away from the swingarm.

bobbins!!! waaaay easier.if you don`t have your bobbins for the swing arm try using the net hold downs in the swing arm.they are free and work great.pads just were not as acurate, had bike slip off pad once, thats all it took

I have both pads & bobbins.... bobbins are waaaaaay better... easier to get on the stand and much sturdier.

I have both also. Use the bobbins on the busa. And the pads on my wifes bike ( not a busa so who cares. Just kidding) Hers doesnt have spools damn yamahogs. I like the bobbins alot better, faster and hold bike up just a bit higher.

USE THE BOBBINS MUCH EASIER AND THEY FEEL MORE STABLE. I WAS USING THE SUZUKI STAND AND GOT RID OF IT AND GOT THE HANDY STANDS.

spools for the back and pads for the front because the front wont take spools-is this correct???

On the front, the stand fits inside the forks, so spools are not required.
