Has anyone tried the Bridgestone BT-56SS

Time to replace my back tire I got 2000 miles out of it. Most of my wear is in the center. The 56SS ad says it is harder in the center. Would this be a good replacement,or should I stay with OEM?

A friend who rides an XX loves his BT56SS. He's taken his in the track and rides it often in the street. Although, he only has 2000 miles on his new tires and so far, they still have a lot of tread left.

Another good choice I would imagine is the BT-010 tires. These are designed to replace the BT56 and BT57. It promises BETTER grip than the 56's no matter whether it's cold or hot. In addition, it uses the stiffer center like the 57's for longer life.

I need tires too. Based on what I've heard and read about the BTs, I opted to buy a pair. I ordered them from Chaparrel Racing for about $200 with shipping. Can't beat the price (best I found after a Web search).

I'll have them in about a week.

I got 2500 miles out of the stock tire. I now have a 56SS and love it. The straight line grip is not hardly as good. I notice it only when it spins when doing a second gear clutch wheelie. I dont have any problems at the track though. Cornering grip has increased. I rode with a friend with comparable cornering skills the other day. He has the new pilots. When he was in front I was on his rear having to brake. When I was in front he starting fading back a bit(we dont pass each other in the curves for safety reasons). We also rode together when we had stock tires and it was even. My advice is dont waste your money. Get the SS's. Oh, also with 2000miles on the SS I havent noticed hardly any wear.

I put 2600 miles on my new BT56SS front and rear in a back-road California tour just before World Superbike races and love them. The rear is about 5mm narrower than the stock BT56 J and the bike turns in a little easier.
It looks like wear is going to be better than the stock tires. I never went too fast (140 top) so I don't know about upper speed range stability. But I found them completely predictable on lots of different road surfaces, including some extended sections of dirt in repair zones. Handling in the twisties was wonderful.

Installed new back tire last weekend. Bridgestone Battlax BT56SS works great so far.Bought from Chaparreal list is $135.00 rear from them on sale for $109.00 . Next month new front

I`ve used BT56SS it`s good for grip good on turning in. Looks like it`s going to last a little longer too.

I have read somwhere over here, cannot remember where, that BT56j and no other BT56 should be fitted to the Horny Rhino. Suzuki developed the j in conjunction with Bridgestone specifically for Rhino use as the fidelity of the ss and r tyres could not be guaranteed when the power and high velocity demands were put on them.
I am going to phone Bridgestone UK tomorrow and find out if they are ok to use and I will let you know.
Think on this. why did Suzuki bother with the j(which didnt exist before the Busa) when they could have fitted the ss or the r to new bikes. Both of these tyres are Z rated. Bridgstone said they consider the 'busa the first motorcyle to require a tyre rated higher than Z.
How does your insurance company stand on this issue too. Ask them, you will probably find you are voiding your insurance by running around on the ss.

Well, I ordered a set of Bridgestones BT-56ss from Chapparel Racing on Tuesday about 12:00 PM EST time, and they just arrived by USPS 12:30 PM EST. The price for the tires was about $200 with shipping, easily the best price I found on the Web.

I also received via USPS a pair of Dymags from TTS Performance in the UK (Bigabusa's outfit). Paid $1700-ish with two-day shipping (shipping alone must have been $200 but that's they way they insisted on doing it for security reasons). Even with shipping, the Dymags were about $200 less than every place I checked in the US so I'm one happy camper today.

These guys sure get my vote for price and customer service. They'll be getting a lot more of my business, that's for sure.
