Haven't started Busa in 6 months

I purchased the Hindle Gen III about 6 months ago. I needed to change the oil in the Busa and thought that would be a good time to put on the new exhaust, but haven't found the time to do it. In the mean time I have been riding my R6, so at least I could ride. Anyway, what should I do about starting the Busa since it's been 6 months, just go ahead and change the oil and be ok? Please help.....thanks

probably should change the oil
battery might be dead ,replace or try charging it
then try starting it up
gas might be bad tho

Crank that thing up! It if starts then change the oil and exhaust and then ride. If it doesn't then you know that you need to charge or replace the battery before you change then oil when you will need to crank it.

Better get her started and run it for bit before you change the oil, but only do that if you need too. Not sure how cold your bike got but your gas probably has condensation in it and is now bad.

The Busa has been in my garage and it never gets close to freezing in there. It has around 500 miles on it and I have changed the oil twice already. On the gas, I think it will be ok to just run in out. There is probably only about 1/4 of a tank of 87 octane. I could fill it the rest of the way with 93 to ensure it will run ok. What do you think? Thanks for the replies.

why not ride the busa?

Put the exhaust on this winter and now i'm just waiting to change the oil and then i'm going to RIDE!

Not a good idea to let a bike sit that long, battery probably is dead and the fuel is probably bad. I would drain the gas, drop the oil and install the exhaust. Purchase new battery and check chain, tighten everything up and away you go.

Start it up and go for a long ride, should be no problems, I can not believe it only has 500 miles on it, I had 500 miles on mine the first month. It's one year old today and I have 11,000 some odd mile now.

Charge the battery, top off the tank and let her rip. If you only have 500 miles and the oil has been changed twice, it should be fine.

Toss a battery in it, maybe a little tiny bit of heat with some fresh gas. Vroom Vroom!!! No worries.

Gas typically won't go bad after only 6 months. As others have mentioned, charge the battery and go ride.

I do hope you had it on stands though. If it sat on the tires in one spot for 6 months they may have flat spots which will never come out. I typically go out and move my cars and bikes a few feet forward or backward every few weeks during the winter to avoid the dreaded flat spots.

Another point, don't ever let the Busa sit for 6 months again!

I have hated not riding the Busa, it's just a pain to take off the fairings to change the oil and I wanted to do both, exhaust and oil, while I had them off. I'm assuming it's going to take at least a day to do both and I haven't had that time....sad huh. I appreciate everyones response, I just hope I don't have flat spots on the tires. I can't imagine that would happen after just 6 months of sitting.

It very well could happen. My Kat 750 sat for 10 months when I came over here the first time and didn't have any, but I was too stupid to realize it could happen anyway. Think I just got lucky.
