Having a Bad Day?

Well . . . . it wouldn't be as bad a day as this family had.
I just found this pic as I was trolling through my folder of the February 2011 Christchurch NZ Earthquake pics on my laptop's hard drive and just had to share it with y'all.
Mind blowing! And someone was home and in the house when this happened!
The massive quake caused a huge boulder to break free from a cliff face above this house and it rolled down the hill and straight through the front door, down the hallway, and out the back door.
You can see where it ripped up the turf and earth just before it went through.
Imagine the noise it made as it passed through the house.

Here's another few shots in hi-resolution from the Kaikoura quake . . . that railway line got picked up and flicked to the side, amazing the amount of energy generated to move things around with such ease!
I have loads of pics but will just show a few, unless you want more.

Wow! I can't imagine being home while that happened! Also dealing with the aftermath of fixing it...

There ain't no fixin' that one lol
Demolition fixed it !

The thing that most people do not realize is the mental anguish and trauma caused by an event such as this . . . the person in the house will probably still be having nightmares and PTSD.
The night in Nov 2014 I was woken from a sleep at 12.02am by a 7.2 magnitude 4 minute long massive shake, I went into a panic attack which I had never experienced before, I was convinced it was the end of the world and death was imminent.
I was staying in a B&B on the side of a hill in Hanmer (Alpine resort town 70 miles north of ChCh) and the epi-centre of the quake was 30 miles away. It was absolutely the most terrifying thing I'd been through . . worse than being chased by the police at speeds of over 150mph for 25 miles back in '96. (thought I'd just throw that in) After the quake it took me about an hour to calm down and heart rate to return to normal.
Scary sh*t I can tell ya!

Bikes can be fixed....thankfully..

I always put mine on the rear stand when it's in the garage...just in case the neighbour kids or my grand kids come in...

Be awful if anything happened to one of them
Ya I usually have mine on the lift but my daughter put her bike on it.
