If you like mirco brews ( and who doesnt ... ) go to a restaurant in the Ward Center in Honolulu called "Brew Moon" Good stuff! When your in Hilo go to "Big Island Candies" finest chocolates & sweets anywhere.
Finally I hope you get to see the Volcano National Park very interesting and it's an all day thing, and ask where "saddle road" is the twisties are legendary.
