hi to everyone,have just joined your forum to ask what hp you are getting from tuned stock motors over there. I know its not a favoured route to take but thats what we want to do just for the crack.Any info or tips would be most welcome,thanks in advance Grandad.
 
It depends what dyno you put it on. Different dyno different results. Mine is kicking out about 145hp at the rear tire. I had it dyno'ed on a mustang dyno. Stock motor, Yoshimura R22 exhaust, K&N air filter, and a T.R.E. Probably get bigger numbers if I used a better dyno. But the most important thing is that I gained Hp after I did the mods and had it tuned in.

hi sorry but i forgot to say this a full race engine,every thing was stock but tuned as much as we could.Spec was skimmed head,extensive head work balance shaft removed reprofiled stock cams polished stock rods and pistons stock valves balanced crank and muzzy baffled sidewinder exhaust small airbox mod.This gave us 208rwhp at DSD dyno which is one of the most reliable and respected in UK.Engine has been very reliable and starts on the button every time.

Does anyone else think that is very high for a stock bore and stroke motor?
 
yes but thats the point we are trying to find the limit with stock rods and pistons.We are still working on engine but this year we have removed balancer shaft drive gears,over size valves race airbox and tubes insulated headers web cams.It will be interesting to see dyno results as at this stage things can make it go down instead of up.
 
carpenter racing says they get 210 plus from stock pistons and rings with cam and head job mines there now so we shall see lol
