Hayabusa korea

The Hayabusa riding club in Korea (Seoul). I believe it is Odaesun Mountain, but I being a foreigner, I really don't know.  If you can read Korean, then you'll know. Otherwise, we're all in the dark. I'm the guy in the shades.

Anyone coming to Korea can join us for a ride.

how are you riding in Korea? ... last i checked you had to be at least E-6 before you could drive anything... did they change the rules or is it different for motorcycles?

To ride a motorcycle in Korea? No special Visas were required.

For Canadians, we just show them our original license and we get a 10 year Korean license. Our two nations have a treaty that allow for friendly institutional relations.

I earned my motorcycle endorsement in Korea, so I had to go through the driving schools - locally.

None of these guys in the photos are members of this board. Some can speak great English, while others are just local guys. There were about 15 Hayabusas when I last counted that joined us at some part of the tour. And yes, SOJU was a'plenty.

Just the mention of Soju gave me a headache. I remember that stuff, I think I helped to sustain that business very well the year I was there.

Don't drink and drive. This has been a public service announcement from SteelHead.

Friends don't let friends drink and drive...but friends don't let friends drink alone (when the Busa is parked for the night).

This message was sponsored by the local union of soju drinkers of Hayabusa Riders.

Soju make you fel 10 feet tall and bullet proof, then you stand up off the bar stool and someone starts spinning the bar while simultaneously tilting it. Did a few kettle runs on both of my tours over there. Liquor in the states doesn't have anything on Soju, except maybe Everclear...

I still have a bottle of that stuff around here somewhere, I've been searching over the last few minutes and can't seem to locate it. If I find it, I'll snap a shot.

What does that stuff cost now, the small bottles were about 25 cents in the stores, $1 in the bars.

No, No, No, I didn't mean to drink and ride...specially soju...I meant I like to meet all the busa pilots out there...and talk about how much the whole country has been changed and all my home sick stuff I was talking about...(I miss Korea for last 24 years...been there only, twice...)
BTW, how come so many ppl knows about "Soju" that well around here? am I missing something or what? (oh, yeah, we callem ceilling spiners...toilet bowl magnifier...all kinds of nickname there...

No such a drink has an episode like the soju...I can tell you that much...thats why ppl drink more and more, even if it does make you sick (has anyone, have a full stomache pain but you and your friend can't stop laughing?)

I had a severe drinking problem at one time. While I was in Korea, I would drink 'til the bars closed, and if I still didn't fee drunk enough I would down a bottle of soju for the walk home.

I don't remember much of my time there. I remember August, then May, not a lot in between.

Some people ask me now why I no longer drink. I think my life is much better now and I remember a lot more of it.

Kev

I'm pretty sure I have a full one somewhere, but here's an empty I found.

Photo taken with the bike to prove it's real.

Cause quite a few of the members here are military who have had to go to Korea for a tour, or two, or three. As the saying goes, "When in Rome", therefore most have enjoyed Korea's fine spirit of Soju. I still don't know how those old guys could sit all afternoon and drink it straight. It kicked my but drinking it in twenty dollar kettles which mixed Soju with red wine and champagne...

well, in Korea... weather you like it or not, you have to drink with friends...mostly soju, guys knows what I'm talking about...
biggrin.gif
and sometimes a real soju retarded friends will have a soft drink, (but until he prooves? he gotta go thru alot of $hidd...to proove, not worth a darn...)
