Hayabusa stolen In St. Augustine

I don't post on here much, because, well, I don't own a Hayabusa. I'd occasionally help my friend and coworker change his oil and tires on his 08. He's a young guy, has only been riding a few years. A few days ago someone stole the bike and the police all ready found the frame in South Carolina! A witness even saw two guys loading it into a white minivan at 2am and didn't bother to call the police. It's normal to see someone loading your neighbors bike into a minivan at 2am, apparently.

His girl friend started a donation page/blog if any fellow hayabusa owners would like to help him out. He had gotten a personal loan + traded his cbr600, in order to buy the hayabusa.

Shane's bike loss help

I'm sure I don't need to say this, but lock up your bikes! If you can't lock it up, then at least maintain theft insurance. For me, insurance isn't good enough, I don't want my **** stolen. If I didn't have a secure place to lock up my bikes, I think i'd drop a few hundred pounds of concrete in the ground and buy an Almax chain to secure it.

man this kind of **** makes me want to go off the reservation!

Oh, his neighbor told police it was a big black guy and smaller white guy. I can just picture these two nit wits trying to shove that bike in a minivan. If anyone sees a big black guy riding a hayabusa, with a white midget on the back, call the police.

Sumter, SC. They found 6 other bike frames dumped and the stolen van.

I've been to Sumter when I was stationed in Charleston. Not much there.

Yea, let us know where in SC. Can you give some more details on the bike, color, mods or anything would help. There could be some parts start showing up for sale on forums we could keep an eye out for.

Here's a picture of the bike. As you can see it has an extended swing arm with hayabusa written in cursive and I think those are Yoshi cans. There were small scratches on both sides from tip overs.

Yikes!!! That is terrible! I'm sorry about your friend's loss. People like this need a good 'ol beaten.

Sorry for your buddies loss. But living in Broward county for 13 years i had to pass up some very nice apartments just because they had open parking and no garages. In South Florida it's not if your bike will be stolen, but when if you leave it outside. Even if you have it chained, cabled, tied down, razor wired, fenced and a million power spot light on it. If they want it they are taking it, you can watch video clips on Sun-Sentinel.com of people stealing bikes, trailers and everything else.

+1 for the hanging offense for bike theft.
