sorry i'm new to these forums, i thought i put in a description, I have a 2002 busa that is stock except for slip on cans. My buddy has a 04 zx10r full exhaust, power commander, and down a tooth in the front. He is dying to race me. we would be racing from either a 40mph roll one or a 70mph roll up to speeds of 170 or 180mph on an empty highway. i can make perfect shifts so thats not a problem. he weighs about 165lbs and i'm at 190lbs. does hte busa have a chance to win? or am i gonna get torn apart by this 10r.

The wt difference will play in his favor as you're giving up ~125 lbs. He's got some pretty decent mods too, but since you're running to ~180 that's going to give you a slight advantage with the top end. It's (once again) going to come down to rider, but because of weight and mods you've got your work cut out for ya. Keep us posted.

You have any $$$ for some quick mods?
You never know what someone has in their bike. You can easily hide 100 HP added to the Busa and claim bone stock, maybe more.
As described I'd say it's to close ta call. If he approached you about the race, chances are he's about to hand you your azz.
Be careful and wear full gear.

Naw, nothing really for the quick mods. I was thinking of a power commander and full exhaust but decided to save the money for two years and purchase a turbo kit. You guys think it would be better from a 40mph roll on or a 70. I was thinking 40 because thats the busa is in its power band in 1st gear and I can still hold the wheel down pretty well if i lean up far enough under full throttle. Most the wheel comes up is about a foot. Any cheap mod recommendations that dont break the bank?

I havent had a chance to race the guy yet, but I did run a 2002 transam ws6 with 600rwhp two days ago from a 100mph roll on and it was pretty ugly for the transam ( I was in 3rd gear, should have been in 2nd). I got a chance to talk to the guy afterwards for about 20 mins and he said he's had it over 200mph and has a supercharger at home hes about to put on so I gave him my number and told him to give me a call when its all done.

Run your tank near to empty (almost 7 pounds per gallon = 35 more pounds) find some nitro and dont play by his rules.....I see guys all the time say "I beat a haya" and then ask them what they were doing.....chances are they say they had to do a few roll ons and they were able to beat him from 40-50....or the busa had to stay in 3 gear....or the busa had to pull two spark plug wires.....its all b.s..
If he wants to race then let it be fastest from 0 to 195.....that should shut him up....but if you want to race him dont do roll ons.....race a real race like a 1/4 mile and good luck.
