Trying to download from my cam to my laptop. I'm using the bundled software that came with it.(first mistake I know,I hate bundled software).

Prob arises when clicking cam icon in the program Ulead DVD MovieFactory 4.0 SE

Click on the import/download icon: Error message comes up:

"No capture driver is available in the system".

Have tried: re/re of the software.
Searched Uleads site for help, they have patches, but not for SE (special edition) software.
Phoned Sanyo,waiting for call back.

Uleads answer seemed to be to buy 5.0,so I downloaded/installed the trial version. No workie, same error. No fixes of course, for trial version software.

Any idea's people?

Thanks Rubb. I have 2 days to get this working, before splitting for holidays.

I've seen this issue with Ulead before....ugh - now I'm trying to remember how to fix it!

When you installed Ulead - did it prompt you to hook up your camera to detect it? I think I 'cancelled' that dialog box cuz I didn't have the camera with me at the time. I think what solved it for me was to reinstall and let it detect the camera.

That dialog box never came up during installation.

I'm just dragging the vids outa the cam thru "my computer" and tossing them into a folder to deal with later.

At least then I can format the card within the cam, freeing it up for more vids for our upcoming holiday.

Thanks man,good try. Rubb.

Do you have a laptop Andy? Can you take that if you fill the card up and need to move pics over?

Check out the link and see if anything matches your problem Andy...

How is the camera WIRED to the laptap? USB? 1394 firewire? if it's usb, maybe cold reboot, plug in and turn on. XP ought to detect it and ask you what you want to do. just some thoughts. also try the 2nd usb port, if nothing happens on the first one

also, are you talking PICS or VIDEO?

Thanks for yer effort Bro.

I can get the vids from the cam,I was just annoyed at the fact that the bundled software blows chunk.

it is XP,and yes it did detect it,I was just hoping the enclosed software measured up. It didn't.

See previous post.

The camera software should have included a TWAIN driver. That's what the Ulead software should be looking for. XP will detect it as a removable drive, not a video camera.

sometimes those twain driversd arnt installed automatically, i've had to actually search through the disc and install them manually.. was a pain

hehehhe yeah, gotta learn to accept LESS out of software anymore these days. everything might as well be "Beta" with all the patching that comes out after purchase. personally, I've never touched software that came with my cameras - only if it did anything I needed, which hasn't happened yet. good luck!
