Head Work

My 08 has 6800 miles on it. I accidentally put a full :banghead:100 shot of NOS to it! Now I have two bent valves. My question is what kind of mild work should I do? Since I have to tear the head down anyway. I want to do more than what is there, but retain reliability. And no more NOS

:welcome: to the oRg. Probably not a lot of spare heads floating around out there. Good luck.

Not looking for a spare head just any ideas on what kind of work I should do to mine while I have it tore down

Port and Polish. Depending on what you're going to do you might need better valve springs from what I've read. Hopefully some of the mechs will sound off for ya.

Get:
5 Axis Radial Valve job with bronze seats, HD valve springs and steel valves and explore the outter limits!...if you have it cams....studs are a plus!

GPW... no head job yet. But I am interested in valves and springs if and only if it will retain reliability and  more power. any help on the matter is appreciated:bowdown:

Dont know if you've tore it down yet or not, but get it repaired under warranty
Tear ALL the Nitrous stuff off the bike, try to put it back to as "STOCK" as possible and take that beaotch into the dealer and tell them YOU DONT KNOW WHAT HAPPENED :dunno:
Make them PROVE you wrong....."Why NO i've NEVER raced my busa", i was just cruising down the freeway and it started missing. But then again this would be just WRONG, so i would not advise going this route

I hava a question. How does one ACCIDENTALLY put a 100 shot of NOS to a bike. I would think it had to be a well thought out planned ordeal.

I won't lie to anyone. karma is a b!t(h. And actually forgot to put my 36 shot pill in. Did not realize until too late. impatient I guess

Besides the hole in my airbox might give me away?????? And the fact that the owner hates me because He s a powersports powerhouse and his dealerships rely heavily on my club as well as my brother and sister clubs to be as cheap as possible to him routinely. which persistantly urks him:beerchug:

Ohh and yes I have all but taken the head off. So too late in my mind to put it together again before re-doing it:thumbsup:

if it were me i would fully port an polish and upgrade all springs, retainers, and valves and put some nice cams in. But thats me, do what you wish its your bike.

While I appreciate the info, that is the route I want to take. But will it be reliable and if so what stuff should I use to help with the reliability while getting more power. just do not want to do this more than once. I work on shiznit all day and don't have enough time for my own work. If you catch my drift:thumbsup:

Yes, it will be reliable, if your gonna keep spraying, install a good SS valve(s)(86 the Ti valves....nothing more than paper weights now anywayz  ) Install some Web cams(check out APE, there a site sponsor) Stronger valve springs(since this is the reason you bent a valve(s) in the first place). Then if you want, do a little port & polish(dont know how much NET gain you will see.....seeingz how the Gen2 head FLOWS VERY GOOD in stock form, but there might be something to be had). As long as you dont go Crazy on your cam(s) profile(which your compression limits this anyways), this all will be very streetable and reliable. :beerchug:
