If I were to wrap my exhaust does anyone know if I should use 1 inch or 2 inch wide tape, and how many feet will it take to wrap them.

Thanks!

Okay, don't wrap your header. They are meant to breath out and cool with open air.

Instead, use the same type of adhesive backed material that Suzuki uses (thicker, though).

This is what I use

Tape to the plastic. $17.88

When I installed my Akrapovic, I placed pre-cut pieces on the belly pan, the right lower and a little of the left lower to guard against heat.

I suggest first cleaning the inside of each panel (don't use brake cleaner for god sakes!) thoroughly, with a light grease cutting solution (I use Protect-All or Honda Cleaner). Follow up with mild soap, water to assure a clean surface. Let dry.

Map your install out by placing pre-cut pieces onto the plastic before removing the backing. Use a fresh razor blade to insure a clean cut.

Tip: use a hair dryer to heat the area where you will place the piece. Remove tape backing and apply. Press into place.

The only time you will notice pieces coming off or separating is when you come into wet weather or moisture. For those pieces that would start to lift I would take a little 3M adhesive glue and put a little on the back and then re-apply. Scissor or razor off the excess.

The stuff works great.

The small frays that pop out sometimes get comments. "Hey, you're panel is broken!"

I hope that helps a little.

Thanks for the info Cookie. I did some more research and found that wrapping the headers is not a wise choice.

You do not want to wrap your headers....they can overheat and cause BIG problems....it will also cause some systems to rust out
