PROBLEMS ARISE WITH THE NEW K7

Suzuki said that these K7's are PRONE to the GAS being filled into the charcoal Canister for Emissions "IF YOU OVERFILL GASTANK,OR WHEELIE THE K7"...............
At the Suzuki School this was gone over EXTENSIVLEY!

Suzuki said "WE WILL NOT COVER THIS UNDER WARRANTY" It MESSES-up many things & will cost a few hundred $$$ To Fix..................

THERE IS NO WAY TO GET RID OF CANISTER WITHOUT MESSING UP THE E.C.U.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

All this Strait from SUZUKI!!!!!!!!!!!!

AND THE NEW BUSA WILL HAVE THIS CRAP ON IT ALSO!......................YOU PEOPLE WHO WORK AT DEALERS ....CHIME IN NOW!

cant believe a guy with inly 10 posts being so demanding.................. as already said, this is a "family" oriented board, and bad language is frowned upon

on another note, a salesman where i bought my 03 was telling me of the canister on the 07, and the fact about it filling up if wheelies were done. he did NOT mention anything about warranty problems.

he did mention that in time, SOMEONE would have a "fix" around it. just look at the TRE(e) ..... it solved the 186 speed limiter on 01 and newers

Not being demanding................just want verification....and to inform.

Language........yes....stupid me.

And yes a fix in the future was talked of.....but only by "Aftermarket" not Suzuki..........Just like the ZX14 Fixxes............

why this is a big deal is...... because........
1. The canister cant be removed due to the New E.C.U.
2. If you Overfill Tank this Problem will occur
3. If you wheelie this will occur
4. To override and "fix" this issue is going to cost considerably more in aftermarket E.C.U. Altering and ETC.ETC.......COMPARED to 2007 back 1999 Machines....
5. Much Bigger Head Ache All Around!

they are just trying to conform with alot of strict emission regulations that are worldwide.

1 common bike = cheaper production = cheaper selling prices

if they had to make different models (emissions) for every different country they are sold, the OTD price would probably be that near a HD

thanks for the welcome......

I have been around here for a Long Time..............
Used to have different screen name when I was on AOL years ago.................cant remember which name....Lightwarrior? maybe or was I oldmanbusa.....? I dont remember honestly....

Been Lurking here also....

Had 02-03 Busa's and K5 GSXR now going Back to an 07 Busa Before it is updated.......and loses it's "uniqueness"

HOW I FOUND OUT WAS

My Best friend is a Mechanic for my Local Suzuki Dealer................and he Told me about the School info Today!

Bad news for guy's on a Limited Budget who will want to upgrade Exaust and Power Comanders etc..etc...

So the 2007 & older Busa may be a better platform for Mods for years to come!

gixx1300r...ohhh I have, dealer has to prove the part you put on caused the failure of a stock part to fail, and must be able to prove how they are related,,,,well guess what that only applies to aftermarket parts ( ford diesel motors, had a huge issue with the 6.0 motor). Try getting suzuki to warranty a tranny problem ( I asked, they don't at my dealer, said " can be due to owner error causing the damage)..and I bet thats what they will do with the whole charcoal canister issue , since the bike was made to have 2 wheels on the ground, not one...

I love my 07 more and more every day when I hear stuff like this..Oh and in 2009 all cars sold in the US will have to have traction control..heard about it today

What is different about the 07 GSXR 1K than the tens of thousands of CA bikes that have had canisters for years? Are they mounted below the tank instead of high on the tail like my 05 Busa?

Well that makes the Zx-14 look better to me. Think i'll wait and see if kawi may surprise us with a 2 year revamp sechdule for the 14 though. Should make the current design all the more cheaper to get on any showroom leftovers at the end of the season.
