I am looking to purchase a new helmet shortly. I like the look of the simpson outlaw but I am concerned about the comfort. I have also heard good things about the later model arai helmets. Does anyone have the outlaw helmet and do you like it? Thanks.

Finding information on helmets is difficult because it's so subjective. That being said, let me be the first to tell you that the Aria RX7 is the best helmet for fit, performance, and comfort. Do all the searching that you want, but, you'll find that it's pretty much tops statistically. It has variable pads that can be used to fit your noggin' properly, the best venting - bar none, the best interior padding, and it's very lightweight. It's probably a bit louder than some others but that results in it being cooler in warm weather. The price can be as high as $650. But, the Helmet Shop in Daytona Fl sells them for $450.

I have an ARAI SIGNET SPORT. It is a high end helmet and is totally adjustable for fit with internal pads . I would buy another arai in a heartbeat. Have had shoei, also good but the fit is better on my arai. Happy Hunting .

i have an Arai Corsair Hayden replica - very comfortable and i like the ease of changing the visors. Looks great too!!

get the Arai rx-7 Corsair and a set of ear plugs then ride safely and happily ever after. I also have a Symax. Haven't used it since I got the Arai. I miss the flip face but not the extra 3 pounds!

The RF900 is my favorite of the 3 full face units I have. The others being a Biffie & a KBC. Also have a Simson 3/4 with a snap on shield. Its cooler in hot temps & very comfy but I get a ton of wind noise at speed.

Shoei or Arai-not much difference to me, bought the one that fit my mellon the best.

All I can say bro is ICON ICON ICON. I love the look protection and pricing of all their equipment. I have their super duty boots, Motorhead jacket, super duty gloves, and the mainframe halo rubatone helmet. I know for a fact their helmets hold up to. I downed my first busa.....(back in my squid days) with nothing on but a helmet, jean shorts, and a tee shirt doing 90 mph. I was totally road rashed out the ass and was messed up for a week in the hospital. The helmet took a 90mph impact on the pavement several ugly times as u can imagine and was only scratched. The visor did break into a hundred pieces of course. In the hospital the only part of my body not cut or bruised was from the shoulders up. People could not believe it. They said I owed my life to that helmet and totally agree. I will never buy another product but Icon now. They have my money all the way. And their mainframe helmet offers many features that most of the expensive shoeis or arai's do but for a fraction of the cost. kneedraggers.com for 185$. Now thats nice to my wallet. Sound wise they really muffel the exhaust to. I have dual yoshi slip ons and between 5,000 rpms and up they really scream! That helmet muffels them out well. Good luck choosing man hope this helps.

After finally gettin' good enough weather to ride in and try out my RF1000 yesterday I've gotta say that it is one sweet lid. See my review of it in another thread. It blows the RF900 out of the water. One can be had from ebay for as low as $275 shipped if you are willing to watch the auctions and wait on the good deals to show up. I got mine in person at CycleGear for a little under $300 using a coupon from their catalog. Couldn't imagine bein' happier with any off the shelf lid.

+1 on the Super Duty boots. I've got a pair and usually wear them even when I'm not ridin'.

Thanks for the input guys, I think I'll go with the Arai RX-7, I know it's expensive but I think it's worth it.:D
Just make sure you're willing to live with the shield latching mechanism of the Arai. That was the single biggest turn off for me regarding Arai lids. I would have spent the money on one if their shield ratcheted and stayed put. Too many owners admitted that the shield pops open at speed when they do lane checks and such... No ability to pop it open to the first ratchet click to clear the fog and have it stay there... enough to sway me away. Couldn't justify the higher cost (than Shoei) for what I consider less lid technology wise...

You can't go wrong with any of the high end Arai's, Shoei's or Suomy's. Most important factor is the fit, they are all a little different so try on as many as you can.

Just jumped up to a Shoei and can't wait to try it out.

I have the Arai RX-7 Roberts Double Eagle. It is the first Arai helmet I have bought but not the last. It is simply the greatest helmet I have ever owned and well worth the price. Before the Arai the most I ever spent on a helmet was $250. It was a hard jump spending $600 on a helmet when I do not even race, but I have never regretted it since. After you get your Arai you will wonder why it took you so long to get one in the first place.
