Due to potential safety concerns, Heli Modified Inc. is planning a voluntary recall of the Heli Bars with the following listed part number effective immediately:
Heli Bars with the following Part Numbers:
HB9401 fitting Honda ST1100 (91-94)
HB9411 fitting Honda ST1100 (95-02)
HB9701 fitting Suzuki Bandit 1200 (97-04)
HB9901 fitting Kawasaki Concours (86-04)
HB9909 fitting Kawasaki ZX11 (90-02)
HB2012 fitting Kawasaki ZZR1200 (02-04)
HB9908 fitting Triumph Sprint ST (99-01)
HB2009 fitting Triumph Sprint ST (02-04)
The affected Heli Bars (MTS-Multi-Adjustable design) were manufactured and shipped after January 1, 2004 through September 17, 2004. IF YOU HAVE THESE HELI BARS, IT IS IMPORTANT THAT YOU DISCONTINUE USE IMMEDIATELY.
The defect is in the vertical riser portions (left and right) which slide into the horizontal mounting bar. In some instances the round cast portion of the riser may fracture, causing a visible crack in the casting and producing a dangerous driving condition and loss of control of the motorcycle. Corrections for this problem have been developed, but until these corrections are applied the Heli Bars should not be used.
Heli Modified Inc. will be providing replacement vertical riser portions to all affected customers. If you purchased your Heli Bars through your dealer, please contact them to obtain the replacements parts. PLEASE DO NOT DELAY IN RETURNING THE AFFECTED PARTS TO YOUR DEALER OR HELI MODIFIED IMMEDIATELY.
