OK guys, here's the deal... I dropped my busa and every single panel got scratched, as well as both mufflers, mirrors, levers, and a few other things... Now, my insurance company just issued me a check for about $4,200. The bad thing is that the bank will only release the money to the shop because the bike is not paid off.

Now, here is where I need help:

1). Does the Hayabusa need a Power Commander if I put a 4 into 1 exhaust system? If not, which exhaust do you guys recommend for better sound? I don't really need anymore speed, but I want everyone to hear my Busa roar when it goes by. Plus I want to keep it around $800.

2). The dealer said that they were willing to work with me ordering aftermarket parts, instead of OEM. Where can I get all the original copper panels? I know they can be ordered from Suzuki but, is there another place?

3). Where can I get a carbon fiber front fender, mirrors, levers, and the ram air covers? I know that Lockhart Phillips has them, but I'm just wondering if there is another place where I can get them cheaper.

I will appreciate your help as always...

HAYABUSERO,

You do NOT need a power commander to put a whole system. You should either remove or plug your PAIR system. It is however beneficial that you re-map your computer on a DYNO to achieve best results with your exhaust system.

If noise is what you want then just get a set of the original cans, that everyone has, and completely remove the baffle. This will really wake up your neighborhood! Also the cost will be minimal. You can also have the cans polished like Martim2 did.

Carbon fiber can be had from KawAbuser or Cycle Stuff. Most of the stuff they have is bolt on replacement.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. I'm right now in the same boat you are in.

buy a muzzy.best bang for the buck and sounds good plus you get more power.you can either remap with a borrowed yosh box or by a pc2.afull ti muzzy is about 850 then borrow a yosh box and tour only $50 over budget.if you need help ,advice or products come visit my site,http://themotorhead.com/

I'm with Johnny, my rates are $372/yr. full coverage.

But I also agree with Thradar and Mabusa...what are all you guys doing getting Busas, if you can't keep 'em upright? A spill should be a once-in-a-decade event, for a veteran rider...and even then, only if you're a
crazy-a s s rider.

Get a Busa and dump it in less than a year? What that means is, you're not ready for it.

F uc k That!! A spill should be a once in a decade event??!!! Tell that to Valentino Rossi or Max Biaggi or any racer. Even if one doesn't race, y'all make it sound like these guys want to crash. Though there may be someone out there whom wants to ride a motorcycle so that he/she can eventually be involved in a grisly and fatal accident I am quite sure that there aren't too many more like him/her.

So you never crashed, and.....? Don't break your arm pattin' yourself on the back. So you've had three crashes a year for the past 3 years....? Maybe they weren't all your fault, or maybe a few rider safety and skill courses are in order. As long as no one is hurt I don't see a problem.

The guy claimed insurance on his bike. I congratulate him on using the f uc k ing thing w/out being too hurt. At least he's getting something in return for a valid claim. I wish all insurance companies acted accordingly after a customer makes payments religously.

I did drop mine in less than 2 months.
and claimed it 2400.00 damage, from going 2MPH in the rain and hit some slick mud.
It was more damaging to my ego than the bike.

I agree with you Mr Bear, a spill should be a once in a decade event... in my case it has been a once in a life time event.

I think I will settle for a Carbon Fiber Muzzys. Motorcycle Warehouse has them for $602. Is that a good deal? I know it's better than buying it from Muzzys, they want $729 for the same one.

I will also buy a carbon fiber front fender and carbon fiber inner panels. I'm still trying to find a place where to get the OEM panels at a better price. Any imput will be helpful.

Thanks to all for the help.

I work the parts department at Sunrise Auto & Cycle. I have been giving all of the Hayabusa.org member great prices on OEM part (dealer cost plus 20%) If your interested give me a call toll free at (800) 992-0127. Call after 11:00 am eastern time ask for Jim.

You tell them suiciderider!!!

By the way, thanks a lot To_Quick, I'll be giving you a call soon.

Actually, my insurance company actually didn't give me a hard time at all... the problem I'm having is that the dealer I went through won't order the panels from another retailer, they want to order them from Suzuki at some unbelievable prices... I guess they think they're gonna make a few bucks, what they don't know is that tomorrow I'm gonna ask them how much I owe them for the estimate and then I'm going somewhere else to get the job done.

Why are dealer's trying to hose me? The bank told me that once I sent them a Repair Order, they are gonna release the money to the shop and if there was any money left, the repair shop has to refund me. I love it when someone tries to screw you like that just because they are the only dealer in a 100 mile radius...

Thanks again to all for all the help...

Johnnycheese... send me some info on the block-off plates too, price and all that good stuff... jmgaitan@worldnetla.net

If you have it at a dealer or any shop, and you have an estimate for repairs.the insurace company has paid to have them repaired for a certain price if any money left over it has to go back to the insurance company or it is considered fraud.big time offence.as for the dealer we sell our parts for retail we need stay in bussiness so you have somewhere to buy a bike and we lose money on Warranty. we do not let you buy a Suzuki part anywhere but us.This is the policy of almost ever dealer in the country.
You and the dealer sound like you both are in some gray area. The bank has to sign off on the check due to the bike is not yours but the banks and they want their interest to be protected.ie. look like new again.
I would be real careful or all thre parties could be in hot water.
ps you have mail.

To_Quick, Im looking for a price on a Yosh box...can you help on that?

Hey Hayabusero, What are your plans for the old scratched fairings? If your interested in selling, send me an e-mail at mgraeber@fadal.com. Also, if you are interested in selling could you send pictures of the damage and a starting price. Thanks in advance. See ya.
