Hey Jamie, I don't know the answer but you should also ask on dragbike.com forum if you haven't already. Please let us know what you find out.

Thanks guys,

I posted on dragbike last night before I posted here. No answers yet.

I'll call around but I know what I'm gonna hear.

LazerMike responded to my mail about me being leary of using JB on my head. He said he uses it all the time and has never had trouble. HE also said he'd weld it if that's what I wanted. I thought that's what I said when I had to leave it for a week. Something like, "yeah it's right there in the bowl, you should be able to reach that with the TIG pretty easily."

I should have listened to you guys.

I took my ZX-11 head to Lazer and had him fix a pin hole in the #1 intake port that I caused through neglect.

He charged me $40 to smear JB Weld into the hole and clean the valve face. He said he roughed it up so it would hold and he says he's confident in it.

I feel nauseous.

Anybody ever used JB Weld on an aluminum head?

I think my only option is to take it back apart and get it welded or at least done right.

Someone told me once that there's a difference between a C model head and a D model head. I have both here, if there's something to be gained by using a D head then I'll do one up. I don't see any difference.

I'd like to keep the head on it that I have now, it was ported by Carrie Andrew. Remember him from the UFO shootouts?

Jamie
