This has to be the stupidest thing I've ever done!! Sheeesh if I could take my leg off I would kick myself right in the arse! Ok ok enough
My story... I was cleaning the bike and well I have some street tar on my cans so instead of the scrubbing it off I decided to use some chrome wheel cleaner. Well it has splotched the cans. Almost made one can white...Any of ya know what I can do to fix this? The only way I know is to buy new cans.

Thanks in advanced!

Could be your excuse to get the full system or bolt-ons that you wanted!

I tried polishing them out mange to save one of the cans. But the other still looks like crap

will post pics of it...I want new cans for sure but right now I love the gas milage and don't want to loose that with gas prices as they are now. I'll bet I have read a ton of sites how to polish...Might try doing that side again..

I painted mine black ceramic when I did exactly the same.
Check the pictures
Painted cans was just fine not perfect tho....
I can sell it to you cheap. I don`t know what color is your bike. You can buy ceramic paint in different colors I think.
couple hours sandind (NO PRIMER) and few layers later you can have pretty nice looking cans. and if they ever get scratched you can repaint them again....
I`m very happy with new RS-22 bolt-ons. Sounds terrific!!!
I think they looks better then any bolt-ons I ever seen on Busa. I just love two cans look.

Well can't post pics. Heh first time me trying and having no luck. What a day! Those cans you have look good. How much difference was the gas mileage? Or did you notice much?

Wanted to thank all of you for replying so quickly!

I don't feel alone as I did. I've told everone that owns a busa this is a must SITE to have! Oh my bike is Blue/silver. Can you tell me how I can post my pics? sorry to be a problem.

I just installed them 2 hours ago. I hosted my pictures on my own website and just put links here.
I guess you can attach a file in the bottom of the page.

Gas mileage? Why do you think it should drop your mileage?
I never heard about it, maybe someone else could answer that.
I will ride it tomorrow for 50 miles at least. I will let you know.

I heard when you buy new cans that you have to remap the bike /air box mod also. I never done any of this myself cause I like my busa just the way it is. Although I have plans for chrome / and cans if I don't have to remap. Those are some GREAT looking cans. You should be proud of them

Go to Caswell Plating's website for more info on cutting and polishing. I've got the good stuff from Caswell to do it with, I just don't have a set of cans to polish. Wish I had someone local who had a set I could get and spend some time on... I'd love to put a mirror finish on a set the right way.

Trust me I do know the proper way to geting it off although the steps I took was not the right way at all. Didn't have WD-40 at the time and figured I would save some time by using the crap I did. Well <Here's my
