Specs:
The bulb consists of 20 super bright surface mounted wide angle oval LED's in tower configuration. LED's are clear that light up white or clear that light up amber. Available in 1156 (STOCK) or 1157 (for those with the daytime running light socket mod). 15 side facing LEDS and 5 forward facing LEDS.
The LED units do not have built in load limit equalizers to make them flash normally. HOWEVER
SUPERLUMINATIONS has agreed to nearly throw them in on the purchase being that their pretty much needed.
There are two different sizes of equalizers. A 3-Ohm if you have rear led bulbs that flash fast now and add tower led's to the front. You install one on each side of the bike to handle all four.
The second is a 6-Ohm which would be installed across the bulb leads themselves if you were just doing front bulbs.
IF YOU HAVE MY LED TAIL LIGHTS JUST DO THE FRONT!. For those who bought flash controlers for rear leds from leibertek you will remember they were $40.00 + shipping. These will be priced at $6.00 each which isnt too hatefull.
The load limit equalizers are quick installs. They come with quick splices that can be used to splice into the wires without cutting them. They pierce thru the insulation of the wires.
Attached image is the eq's installed. The eq's do get warm so overthem or mount them so they dont touch much plastic. Same as before.
Ref
Finally got the pics of the LED's.
First pic is of various bulbs and LED bulbs available in the group buy. On the left are load limit equilizers (3 ohm) and (6 ohms) on the right. Much better quality than a radio shack 10 watt resistor. Stock clear filiment bulb, stock amber painted filiment bulb, clear LED's that illuminate in white and the other in amber.
AMBER LED WHEN LIT.
NOTICE THE "PROTRUDING DEMPLES" ON EACH LED. THATS THE PART THAT ACTUALLY LIGHTS UP. MORE ON THE PROTRUSIONS AT THE END.
WHITE LED's WHEN LIT.
NOTICE DUE TO BRIGHTNESS AND WHITNESS YOU CANT EVEN MAKE OUT THE DEMPLES.
AMBER FILIMENT WHEN LIT
AMBER LED'S IN AMBER STOCK TURN SIGNAL HOUSING ON LEFT. WHITE LED'S IN AMBER STOCK TURN SIGNAL HOUSING ON RIGHT.
Amber LED on left has more amber look due to amber lens cover. White illuminates better/more but in a clear lens might be an issue.
CLEAR FILIMENT BULB IN STOCK AMBER HOUSING ON LEFT.
WHITE LED BULB IN STOCK AMBER HOUSING ON RIGHT.
Stock bulb seemed "hotter" with hot spot in center but not really "brighter". LED has more even distribution of light but doesnt lack in brightness.
There is a very minor modification needed to use the LED tower bulbs in the stock housing. The demples on the tower bulbs make the diameter of the bulbs the same size as the openeing on the stock turn signal housings. Using a dremmel or drill bit make four small indentations to clear room for the demples.
