That is my favorite plane. Not many people know that Skunkworks had to build them 'loose'.
So loose in fact that they leaked fluid from almost every crack and crevice sitting on the ground. It was only up at altitude and speed that its 'skin' shrunk sealing it and making it 'liquidtight'.
This is why they always took off with an absolute minimum of fuel and refueled at altitude.

Most definitely 40yrs ahead of its time and still the fastest plane ever to fly the sky ...

That is one of my favorite planes too. We have one near Wichita that is in a museum, it's an amazing machine!

Yes your correct . There are many who think the govt let's us believe UFOs exist so as to distract us from reality . The reality being these are secret aircraft flying around making 90 degree turns !
Who knows. I think it's a mix of both . The stealth fighter and bomber most likely would still be secret had we not gone to the Gulf yrs ago or for that matter anywhere but need overweighed secrecy and they were unveiled to the world .
