HEY YOU TURBO GUYS.

How many of you guys are running stock compression on your turbos and what are some of your boost numbers? Are you having any problems?I've heard that as long as you dont crank up the boost you can run stock comp. and get good HP out of it.I'll be running water injection if that helps.Do you think the Busa can handle 14# of boost with stock comp.
Please help on this. Thanks

can't answer that one but I wish I had your problem if you know what I mean

Don't think you want to run 14pds at stock compression...Most info that I've read max at stock is 8pds and that's also to allow for a spike...If you know for sure your gonna push for more you may need to install a spacer and go from there...

NO WAY ON 14#'S with stock compression. Biggest thing also is depends on the kit.

I've got lowered compression (base gasket), and water inj. and am running almost 10lbs on high boost. Thats also with race/super unleaded mix

Not sure if I would want to push any more than that

I agree with everyone else...anything over 8 and you need a spacer. If you got the $ and are going to do a spacer, why not go with some JEturbo pistons while your in there. Then you can easily run more boost...within reason.

I thought that busa pistons are good for about 400 or so HP.Wouldnt the rods be a better choice to replace. Also I'm getting most of my info. from Dennis TMH.He says as long as I'm running race gas and the water injection Im good for 14# of boost. But hearing from some of you turbo guys I might go a different direction.I t looks like I'll give Dennis a call and get a base spacer. Thanks guys

race fuel is a different situation.  You could probably get away with 14 psi with good race fuel.

One guy I know, with 9.6:1, running 10psi on 92 octane, did a run with C16 (if I remember correctly) at 22psi with no problems....but it was just a dyno run, and then a few miles ride home

I agree I think once you cross the 8/10 psi line you need to lower the compression otherwise you will damage the engine.

no matter the kit, you ain't gettin' no 14#

8# max is a good number.  6# is a safer number.
Yhea you are right he did say stock compression.  I run 10-12 on 10:1 comp. and can go to 14lbs on race gas on small bursts.

The problem with Turbo pistons and large injectors (if above 310cc) is the bottom is not fun to ride.

I have lower compression and water injection.
I use a 6lb spring in the waste gate and theoretically adjust the secondary controller beyond that dependednt on the conditions (8lbs on pump gas and 12lbs with good gas... but I have yet to actually do it).

Good Luck.

my setup coming is a spacer(lower compression) water injection with a ghetto kit.

run 6-8 normally and up to probably 10-12 max.

well I was going to do the install...... but then I read so many posts about peoples bike blowing up because they forgot something so I decided to have dennis do it..... atleast it will be right and will be perfect when its done.

I've done all the work on my bike up till now.... so its kind of hard to let someone else do it but dennis knows his stuff so I trust him.

I have the ghetto kit and did not want to chance it I went with the 6# spring and water injection. If I was to go above 6#'s I would do the spacer plate, s2000 inj, and turbo pistons. But as was said with doing that it would probably not be that fun to ride down low.

I"m going with a ghetto kit, spacer, and injecting water and I can go up to 10# on pump gas but that would be pushing it. It would be wise to run race gas at that boost level.
