HID systen and gauges

It had been about a week since I Road my 08. After spending a few days in the hospital I decided to go out for a ride. I had noticed this every now and then but it started do it more often starting yesterday. When I start my bike with in a few seconds the speed and tach gauges peg out and the FI light comes on. It only last a second or two and the clock also goes hay wire. It would do it about every 2 months or so but now its like every other time I start it. The way I start my bike is.

Push the start button
Turn the key on
Let everything boot up
Pull the clutch in and it fires.

I have been doing this ever since I installed my HID'S which was suggested by WarBirdII and he was also a great help with the install.

If you hadn’t ridden in a while your battery may be on the low side.

The HIDs may affect the clock and or gauges but if FI light is coming on I would say it's another cause .

yeah, it happened to me as well! it even srewed up my FI, not only the light,, make sure they are well isolated

guess i must be one of the few lucky ones. Have only had my clock reset twice shortly after the install, and has not done it since in about 1500 miles or so. I have both ballasts ziptied to the right side ramair tube just like blancas thread, and do the start technique every time also

I havent had any issues with my HIDS causing the gauges going crazy. But I did take the time to run the wiring away from the dash as far as possible. I would recommend trying that first. Also the bulb or bulbs could be acting funny. Karens bike had 2 new bulbs act strange. I replaced it with the third one and much better.

Thanks for the help, I have had it done for a while. I think I was one of the first one's to do this mod after warbirdII. It just started doing this the last 2 times I Road it. I am thinking the battery maybe. I am going to plug my tinder in and see if it helps. I did the mod the same way Tim/warbirdII did. This great guy spent an hour or so on the phone with me while I did it so I am sure the install is OK. I will charge the bat and let you all know. Thanks to all

My tach went out when I installed my HIDs. Ended up removing the HID since it did it at the track.
