am i gonna have problems if i ll change the high beam bulb hb3 65w to hb3 100watts.Overheating ,melting of plastics or anything else?Has anyone tried something similar?
I'd get a HID if you need as much light as possible. A HID in your low beam will make a 100 watt bulb in your high beam seem like it's not there.(Revvv @ Feb. 26 2007,00:50) Have you personally experienced this??? I only ask because I was thinking of adding a higher wattage bulb myself.
I need all the light I can get where I live.
for the time being im using a55wplus50% for low beam and a 100w xenon like for high beam .Since high beam is rarely used more than a minute i do not worry too much for the higher wattage.my experience is very young although.I put them on just two days ago.The final result was good I can say.(Revvv @ Feb. 26 2007,08:50) Have you personally experienced this??? Sounds like he had too big of a fuse and the wrong bulb.(arey @ Feb. 26 2007,12:08) I have a friend that replaced his front signals with a higher bulb then recomended & it melted a part of the fuse box were the fuse for those signal goes.
Wow Thanks. That's some great advise.(BigGeorge @ Feb. 26 2007,09:11) There are many known cases of 100 watt bulbs melting the housing in cars and motorcycles. Go with HID... the bulb is only 35 watts.
But, if you want "personal experience" go ahead and install the 100 watt bulb and then you can tell us how it melted your housing
That happen more than a year ago. No pics available.(heavybusa @ Feb. 26 2007,16:06)Sounds like he had too big of a fuse and the wrong bulb.(arey @ Feb. 26 2007,12:08) I have a friend that replaced his front signals with a higher bulb then recomended & it melted a part of the fuse box were the fuse for those signal goes.
