They've been hand-filed to a friction-fit. Files are flat. I don't like doing really small work with a high-speed/abrasive tool. I gave my Dremel to my nephew a couple years ago.

Problem I see with those LED's is, they are very directional, most of the light will be at the very end of the bulb. How do they look from a car drivers point of view?
depends actually on the LEDs he used. LEDs are available with a very wide rage of output angle. So, sideview may not be as much an issue as you think. Posted via Mobile Device
The camera doesn't capture the whole deal, but you can see how much light is thrown down and back in the first vid. The second shows the flashing uppers for brake. The third shows how bright the Rizoma blinkers are.
