Hello all!! I am currently at 175.6 sae correct hp at rwh. The only mods done are the pair valves removed, airbox done, not as much as motorheads, Bmc filter and a intake cam on the exhaust side set at 105 center!! Ran the bike to different places and within .4 hp!! I also have the short stacks in the box. The first time ever to the track and ran 10.05 spinning through first and second gear. Any one have suggestions on how to get more traction?? I leave at 7,000 rpm. Also what gear changes for 1/4 mile?? and top end???

60' times? MPH?
I am not sure if I am suppose to be impressed I have seen 9s on a stock motor.
???
Also Pair vavle removal is not a HP gain but a weight savings

A friend of mine that's a Suzuki wrench suggested doing this from day one.
But, I seem to remember Yngve stating something about the lobes on the intake not matching the exhaust buckets exactly. Yngve was concerned aboutn premature wear or failure?
Yngve, are you out there??

Cheese, This was my very first day at the track ever!!!! I am running 144.13mph in the quater and my 60' times are like 1.88 to 1.77 like I said first day at the track. I want to let everyone know so far I have not had any abnormal wear on the lobes with 5,000 miles on them!! I check them at about 2,000 miles each time and check to see the lobe throw....no extra wear. The only prob with this is the lobes are backwards from normal and make it just a tad louder. I ran my bike at a local dyno and now I am seeing 177.4 on a dyno jet 200..... Happy Riding

Mike P Keep an eye on the wear we ran a
FZR600 with a intake cam on the exhaust side smoked just about every 750 in 89-90 but we did get wear after a while the cam like you said runs backwards and has no silancing ramp and a very steep opening ramp.
Good luck I understand it was your first time but I thought I would see more MPH.
Heck I have ran on a stocker 138 mph at 11.40

Yeah I am out here....
The exhaust valves are spaced closer togeather than the intake valves and so are the lobes on the camshafts. I just didnt want to try it first but now I have seen many who have tried it and it seems to work.
At least if U arent caring about long time side effect.
Maybye I try my Yoshimura intake cam on the intake and my stock intake on my exhaust ?
I`ll problaby will but not until july or Aug.
( because my engine will not be togeather b4 then :( )

Cheese,

I really think I will see more mph after I figure how to hook up in 1st and 2nd. I spin and I mean spin all the way through 1-2 like there is no tommorow!!! My buddie with the same mods on his is running like 150s but he has a slick on??>..... If I should notice any wear I will tell all....but would it be like in the buckets or the cam itself???/ THanks bunch
Mike
