Got a dynotest today, the bike has run 1400
miles.
159,32 RWHP at 9250 rpm, all stock, no exhaust modification, no remapping, no pink wire cutting.
See you.

Thanks !
I think of keeping the stock exhaust, the only reason to changing, is proberly the gain of weight, and of course a nicer sound.
I don´t think there will be any increase in horsepower to talk about.
What,s your opinion ?

I would think with remapping, a higher flow air filter and if the new exhaust has tapered or duplex headers there should be an increase. How much HP is gained will probably be known in the next couple weeks. I imagine some of the members here will be posting their results.

well, i've posted my results a while ago. but here goes again. my busa did 156.4 rwhp stock. after a yosh full system and remapping, i got 161.5 rwhp. small gain. but hey, still waiting on k&n to come up with a filter for it. should make a big difference. anyway, the factory exhaust is very efficient. not as heavy as i would have expected and the new yosh does have tapered header pipes. looks great and does save weight. not to mention those 1298 cc's roaring out of one pipe. wooo hooo

Leave your busa's alone. In the long run, an original busa will be worth a lot more than a tampered with busa. I hate the looks of the rear fender and the quiet rumble of the pipes, but it is fast just the way it is. I ain't paying no more money for more stuff. I paid 10,499. and I will not pay another 1000 for aftermarket parts. Later busa owners. to each his own.

made a few runs on the dyno today, the bike has 1000 miles on it.
155.2 RWHP at 9250 rpm, all stock, no exhaust modification, no remapping.
out of 7 runs there was only a 3hp differance..... you could lay all 7 runs on top of each other and they would match perfectly no dips no spikes.... suzuki did a really good job on the EFI .... and the torque this bike makes more torque down low than any other bike I have ever seen.
You gota love it

Not sure what you guys mean by RWHP. Does it stand for Rear Wheel Horse Power? I guess so because I just had mine dynoed (on a Fuchs dyno, which can also calculate your power at the crank). With 2000 miles on and run in properly (ie, by the book) it made 154.7 at the wheel rim and 168.8 at the crankshaft (161.2 at the gearbox DIN). The curve gets a bit raggy at the top – which would be filled in and pushed higher with ram air taking its effect.
I run a Hayabusa site at:

Check it out. There's a link back to this site from it

DC - I'm assuming your test Hayabusa is
European spec with catalysts and stock exhaust? Any certainty that the parallel import you have has catalysts?

Todd, I'm not sure whether or not it has a catalyst. I suspect not as that's an expensive bit of heavy kit that's not yet a legal requirement here. Only BMW's have them as far as I'm aware. The cans are standard "E4" marked cans, exactly as the UK spec bike comes with. Peak power was at 9610 rpm

If you want more horsepower, bring your bikes down to OZ. On two seperate runs on two seperate dynos, my Red/Black Busa made 163 and 164 rwhp. We don't have to run any catalytic down here and the tests were performed at sea level.

DC, How did you work out crank Hp?

gsx1300rguy, don't buy anything from this guy simply cuz he sells it. he doesn't have a clue. first of all, a rear wheel dyno is properly used by doing a 4th gear roll-on from about 3500 or 4000 rpm's. run it to redline and back off. that's the proper way to do it. also, the operator should be sitting on the bike to get the rear end settled on the drum. this guy standing beside the bike and slowly rolling on the throttle sounds like he only wanted yours to show low power so it would be easier to convince you to buy a pipe. find another dyno and have it done again. this is bad. your bike CAN'T have that much low hp or it has a serious problem that you need looked into. good luck and let us know if you get it dyno'd elsewhere.

Hey dudes just had a dyno of mine done ,only 142rwhp?????And I have the TwoBrothers slipons. First he didn`t let the bike warm up and then the guy just straped it down and twisted the throttle real slow and didn`t bring it up to the rev limiter? ,he wasn`t even on the bike. All the test I`ve seen done there was at least one person sometimes two on the bike and the throttle was hammered
hard and they brought it up to the limiter. He showed me a previous test of another busa and the bike had 2horsepower on mine.He then tried to sell me a full exhaust system. How were your bikes dynoed ?I cant believe that the two bikes tested are 14hp down from the average! I was alittle bewildered that the guy didn`t know what a yosh box was either and he`s supposed to be a Suzuki expert?

gsx1300guy, where did you go ? I live in the same area as you and found that NOBODY HAS ANY Experience with Hayabusa performance parts. Why, because there have not been any parts available. I have a Yosh Ti RS3 sitting in a box and will be installed monday by Fred Klies at Eastern Cycle Performance in Waterbury, Conn.Fred's phone #203-756-7019. Another member told me of Action Cycle in Orange, Mass. Harry's Machined Parts(Rick Stetson) is up in Northboro,Mass. The phone number for Rick is 508-366-1455. These are REAL MOTORCYCLE PERFORMANCE MACHINESHOPS. I am not knocking the Suzuki dealerships but they don't build killer drag bikes, they service ATV's, Jet Ski's, and Generators. When I want my generator serviced I will go to a dealer and when I want to made more power I will go to a REAL MOTORCYCLE MACHINE SHOP. Check these people out they are highly intelligent people and this is how they make a liveing, if they didn't they would be working at a dealership tuneing generators, ATV's, and Jet skis. WHO did you go to so we can warn others(doesn't know what a Yosh box is!!!!!).

The name of the place is ,All Sport Cycle Service,in orange Mass.I was pretty disapointed about the whole thing .He`s done work on my zx9 and it was reasonable and I was very happy with the results.I recently sent a friend there and I thought what Jeff charged him was pretty outragous ,Almost $900.00 bucks for a micron slipon ,K&N filter and a jet kit install.
I`ll check out those other places for sure, thanks.

in addition to hiabuser's post, this is a classic way to sell pipes. You can reduce a bikes horsepower reading considerably by doing what your speed shop has done. If you buy the slip on's from him, He will dyno the bike again and spike the dyno, ie giving a monster reading. I have managed to get a reading of 185rwhp, just messing around and spiking the dyno. Then he will tell you you have made 40hp. (Slight exaggeration)

ONLY GET YOUR BIKE DYNOED BY SOMEONE WHO IS REPUTABLE AND DOESN'T SELL EXHAUSTS.

Kawabuser,

Please be careful when doing business with Fred K., I had him do some work on my GSXR a couple of years ago. He is to "eager" to do work on stuff he has no idea about. Since you have the newest badest bike made he wants to learn about it.......

Just don't let his use your bike as a guinnie pig. Fred is quite the salesman he'll make you believe he knows what he is doing. Honestly I belive your Busa's technology is beyond Fred's shop....watch your self.
