I know this is not the sort of post you expected after reading the topic description but I knew it would get your attention. I've had my Busa for exactly 82 miles and I've noticed that both my legs get extemely hot while riding. I guess it'll make a nice built-in heater during the winter but it's not very comfortable during the hot summer months. Is this common in Busas?
I don't really notice it except on hotter days in rush hour traffic. On the rare ocassion I wear shorts, you bet I can feel the heat. I'd go by the gauge, dissapating heat is cool as long as the engine is cool.
Yes this is very common, especially with that big ole engine between your legs...Just keep an eye on your temp gauge during stop and go traffic, as it has a tendency to jump up there on hot days at an idle pace, and you'll be fine. You shouldn't really notice the heat while your riding in normal conditions though.
Thanks for the replies. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who's experienced the "hot leg thing", which I notice when I'm wearing long pants. I guess I'll just have to go faster!
You should really change your screen name to WWAKD. Or maybe WAKDM (Would Anna Kournikova Do Me).
The frame gets incredibly hot, I couldn't believe it the first time I rode for a while on a hot day. Stick your knees out into the wind to get that cooling effect.
1299cc between your legs generates a lot of heat.. I can only think of one other think between your legs that generates nearly as much, but thats another story
i like to ride with shorts on but is difficult to do on the busa it puts off too much heat and at a stop light my legs start to get well done !!!!
sucks in the summer time but at least might be helpful in the winter ??
