How can I tell if my Busa is goverened?

Hi guys.
I have just bought my first Busa, a 2000 model and my understanding is that they started to have the speed governed at the later part of the year. Is there a way to find out if my bike was built before the speed moritorium was put into place without taking it out for a high speed run to check the top speed?

I'll never get to this speed but it would be great bragging rights.
Thanks.

Just install a TRE for as little as $8 and then you know it isn't.

Run it on a dyno.

Or place it on a rear stand, run it through the 6 gears and see if it hits the rev limiter at 10,500 rpm. If it does, it's governed.

yea, and make sure that bike is secured in position before you end up with a 200Mph, 500lb projectiile through your neighbors picture window.

Secured or not, he doesn't have to worry about that.

The Busa can't do 200mph in stock form.

Look at the sticker on the left hand side of the frame that tells you when the bike was assembled; should read in month/year format. That will give you a start...

I didn't think the 99's or 00's were, could be wrong. Got the 220 Gauges. Just say it isn't and brag

Ya know I use to fly a propeller fighter aircraft that said you could dive the aircraft up to 525 mph before encountering aerodynamic wing flutter.

After thinking about that for

maybe 3 sec. , I decided to TAKE THEIR WORD FOR IT

My advice, just decide it doesn't have an electronic limiter and go with that . Because in the end (since your NOT going to test it) who cares
