How do I get my bike's rear up on my Pit Bull?

I would like to get my 2005 LE Busa up on a Pit Bull rear stand.  I am afraid to try it without seeing some pics of this.

Does anyone have any pics of a Busa up on a Pit Bull rear stand.  Also, I could use some suggestions as to how to get it up there by myself.  My girlfriends to weak and puny to trust holding the bike and my friends are mostly old, weak, and litiginous.

BTW, does anyone besides me have trouble checking the oil level ?

Here's some thoughts on oil changes:

Appreciate advice.  Thanks.

I may have a pic or two of that. No problem checking the oil on mine.

Easy to do by yourself.

Stand on right (throttle) side of bike, towards the rear tire.
Pull bike towards you to upright position with right hand (I use the grab bar)
Have stand in your left hand, position stand on spools.
Double check both sides of stand to insure placement on spools.  (easy to do, just lean over to check left side)
Push stand handle down.

Just take your time - Piece of cake. With practice it will become second nature.

I do it just the opposite way. Stand on the kickstand side (that way you can verify that the kickstand is down), bring the stand under the spool, using the grab bar or right side push the bike level and verify that the right side spool is in the stand. After that push down on the handle. It does take some practice to get comfortable.

If your having a problem on the lifting part, try rolling the back tire up on a board first. This gives you a higher pivot point and less travel required.

Interesting. I go from the throttle side and pull it off the kickstand, so I already know it's down. If I should lose balance, the bike will (theoretically) land either on the kickstand, or me.

I like being able to use my weight to prevent the bike from coming down on the throttle side.

Seriously, unless you are not paying attention, the bike should not get out of control, regardless of which side you are on.

As mentioned - it just takes a bit of practice.

Added note: Always put the rear of the bike on the stand before the front...

It is much easier to use stands with the pillion grab bar on. A bit nerve wracking at first but easier the more you do it.
Just one note:
Check, double check, and then check again, kickstand is down BEFORE even thinking about lowering bike back off of stand.

Easier for me on kickstand side prolly b/c I'm right handed. If anything goes wrong I can pull the bike towards the kickstand and it'll be safe. Piece of cake once you get the hang of it. I actually have the Vortex rearstand and not the Pitbull though.

BigBS: That's the sweetest black Busa I've seen. Who did the chrome work? Not too overdone but enough to accent it nicely.

Thanks, Ryan. All the big chrome (wheels, swingarm, sprocket and clutch covers) were done by SportChrome. The stator cover came from <a href="http://www.18889chrome.com">CSC<a>, one of the board sponsors. The smaller stuff came from a couple guys on eBay (Kemo760 and extremekempy). Oh yeah, the frame is polished.

BigBS's 'Busa ("Baby J") should be the model for Suzuki's '07 LE! It's the perfect balance of everything. Any pics with the hump installed? You ought to have her professionally photographed.

Thanks again for the kind words! Makes a playa feel all warm and fuzzy inside. No pics with the hump because it has been on since I got the Tobin seats. Might be something I have to do. Once I get her repaired I will get some more pics, but doubt if they will be professional. Unless you consider me with my Canon G5 professional!

I use this little gem to keep my bike in an upright position. It's very easy to use and holds the bike securely in an upright position. The upper chock has 2 positions allowing the bike to go a little farther forward into the chock. As you roll into the chock, it follows up behind the tire and squeezes a little. You can also use a small strap to secure it to the chock if you so desire. I am still waitng for my rear stand, but but I see no reason why it wont be a hands off the bike operation to lift as it is already upright and secure. I have a similar device on my Kendon trailer and once the bike is in the chock I can let go of the bike while using the ratchet straps. BTW...the chock pictured is specifically made for the Busas front tire size. It's also perfect for checking oil.

I really like the Pitbull with the forward facing handle. Makes working around the rear tire easy. It's also out of the way so you don't trip over the damn thing

Just watch it when you lower it. That is when I got a surprise the other day--it wanted to fall to the right. Prolly something I did twitchy, but I had my wife standing by, and she kept it upright.

I let her check my oil while I hold the bike upright also. Two people just gives you a little insurance.

If you don't have frame sliders, a wise, investment and it falls however slowly on its side, you will cry when you see the damage to your fairing(s) and mirror.

Hey whytlotus, that is a nice chock. Where did you pick that up? That will be great on the trailer & in the garage!

Where can I get one of these? I like that stand.
