How do I record streaming video on the net?

We are having a training tomorrow at the fire station and it's being done through streaming video while we watch at our station.

Is there a program, hopefully free, that will allow me to capture and record it for future trainings?

If so can it be done as an mpeg?

you could try fraps:

but I don't fully know what it's capabilities are. it was mainly designed to record live video games to video. might work for desktop.

Webex.com also offers similar feature but don't know if it works with video and teh feature might cost.
