Getting aggravated lol. Have no clue what I am doing with these things. Been searching the forums gathering bits of information here is what I got. Any help is appreciated! Got the front end all apart .
when mine got done, the ballast was zippy tied and vulcro'd to the air ducks. the rest is str8 fwd. i dont know what that piece is outside the box. i dont remember seeing that.good luck and welcome to the light!
yeah check out the hid install questions and answers post and also there should be another one for the timer delay. you may not need the delay but you have an 03 try the install without installing the timer and see if they work (you need to start your bike to see if there are gonna be any problems) if they do your good to go. if not then look up the thread on the hei timer delay install. Also I can't tell but it looks like one of those bulbs is not an H7 your bike should be running an H7 low beam and 9005 High beam. All hid is on off so the lights themselves will work but you should be able to get the correct base so they fit right into the factory socket at the headlamp. Test fit everything and your best bet is remove the front fairing to install the lights and test everything before you button it up. you can also check out a website that has a tips page HID Advantage check out the installation tips page and they have a complete troubleshooting page too. hope that helps.
Wow thank you for the great info! Slowly figuring it out. Did all the other mods first this is the last one to go on for the day trying to sort it out lol. Will post up what problems I run into. Thank you for the advice! Yea Head east I had the same issue. I had no idea those where protective covers LOL.
Also, with all other types of hi-intensity lamps, do not touch the bulb itself. If you do wipe it down with alcohol to remove the oils from your fingers. These oils can cause the bulb glass to shatter.
