HOW DO YOU REMOVE DECALS OFF 08 BUSA?

Cash to the Suzuki mechanic on the sly after hours......

Leave it in the sun to heat up, use a blow dryer, use a heat gun (and blister your paint), buy something from the auto parts store that patches tires from the inside (from a thread here)then it peels off. Back in the day I was told gasoline and recently that there is a spray that can be used that the mechanics have (per the salesman however they stated they could not remove them per THE LAW)but it is a mystery to me still. I am opting for cash payout. I am dropping off the bike for the 600 mile service in the AM and am asking them to apply the carbon fiber tank guards which will force them to pull off the tank labels as with the guards. I received new tank warning stickers with the guards that are meant to be placed back on in new locals after the guards are in place. I will know if it works by evening manana...
Yes, I have asked this question and still have the stickers....for now that is.

Heat gun improperly used will bubble the paint sure, but it takes someone really not too attentive to do that.

Warm the decal up and then carefully peel them off. Wipe any remaining residue off with Goo Gone, taking care to ensure the cloth is not clogged with material or it will swirl/scratch the paint.

adjustable temp heat gun... milwaukee tools...140-1040 degrees..
140 degrees

far away from paint and everything is cool...no big deal...constantly move the towel around so it will not clog... polish with wax when done..

I thought the 08s were fast enough that you just bring them up to speed and the stickers just fly off.

I used Goo-Be gone to get my sickers off. I just pre-soaked the sticker with said product and then used the edge of an old credit card and it peeled right off. A good washing followed by good wax and there ya go.

The inner pannel stickers come right off.  The tank stickers need a BLOWDRYER...not a heat gun (Unless you have skills).  Glue residue can be removed with gas.  It won't hurt the paint!!!  How many times has gas splattered on your tank when fueling up?
Fairing stickers (yeah, I took ALL my stickers off even the graffix) peel right off, with slow, steady, even pressure after exposing to the sun. (no blowdryer, makes them to gummy).
The swingarm and frame stickers are a b.i.a.t.c.h.  Use a flat, square razor(unless you have a Black powdercoat frame, then use a plastic putty knife)and skin off the plastic part leaving the glue, then use good old fashioned gas and a rag and remover the glue.

Hair dryer...do not need to get them much hotter than your seat gets sitting in the sun...they will all come right off...little wax for the glue residue.

REMOVED MY DECALS THIS MORNING...SUZUKI FRONT AND BACK...WARNINGS OFF THE INNER FAIRINGS AND SPEC DECAL ON RIGHT SIDE OF BIKE...AND WARNINGS OFF LEFT SIDE...USED MILWAUKEE HEAT GUN ON 140 DEGREE SETTING HELD AWAY FROM BIKE AND TOOK IT SLOW.. PEELED RIGHT OFF AND USED GOO GONE TO REMOVE ANY RESIDUE LEFT OVER. SHOT IT WITH MOTHERS DETAIL SPRAY AND USED MICROFIBER TOWEL. LOOKS LIKE THEY WERE NEVER ON THERE. GOOD LUCK WITH YOURS..TAKING OFF MORE TOMM BEEN UP ALL DAY AND LAST NIGHT WAITING FOR THE 08 TO ARRIVE...PICKED IT UP AT 9AM..ITS AWESOME..

I used a twenty dollar bill and handed it to the tech.

They peeled right off though he had slight challenges with the tank. He stated if you do it before the bike gets baked by the Florida sun, it is easy.Having finger nails was an asset as well for him. He then placed my tank guards on all for no charge. I gav him the tip afterwards. A few managers had to be distarcted as they are very focused on not breaking the Federal LAW.

+1 on the above...hair dryer and WD40 works best. If you peel off the fairing kanji as I did, don't heat the decals up too much as they'll come off in tiny pieces...just a little heat is all you need and they will come off as one piece.
