How High?

For those of you who are running Wheelie Bars.

How high do you have yours set? (normally)

Slick/No slick? Strut/Shock?

Stretch or Stock?

Slicks/strut <2" for the ones I looked at.. a few of the old school bikes were maybe 1"

Keep in mind that this is a "Friday night" drags setup and not national event track surface.. However the track I work at sprays the entire 1/4 with VHT every night they are open.. Ryan has put bikes down the track in the 7 second bracket on these nights..

Kind of a balancing act to the hp you are making, tire pressure, rpms off line and anything else that affects your launch.. start a good logbook and keep track of all this stuff, it is like a bible after a few hundred runs..

Good range to target is about 2 inches. But it will vary depending on each track and riding style. With a slider it may be one setting, lock-up another, and stock clutch even different. You just gotta play with it.....the wheelie bars I mean. :poke:

My first bike in 1982 was a Kawasaki H2 that I drove on the street with wheelie bars. Back then wheelie bars were the balls for racers and posers on and off the strip. Maybe bars will come back for streetbikes? Maybe my skinny ties and plaid jackets will be worth something?
