I'm just about ready to change the gearing on Da' Train and I want to fix the speedo error right off the bat. How many have been using the Speedo Healer? Feedback on it would be appreciated. Also, who's using the Yellow Box?

Which one should I get and why?

Thanks in advance...

Train,
I've got a yellow box, although I'm not familiar with the speedo healer. The box seems to be a good choice for me. It let's you offset by +/- 27% . That's alot of error correction. I put some 220 guages on my '03, and it looks like I've got it dialed in pretty close. If you're not doing something like that, then it should work great for you. You can adjust in .25% increments, so you should be able to get it dead on. The box itself is tiny (about 1.5" x 3"). You splice it in to the speed sensor wires, and place the box remotely. I've got it in the trunk. A suggestion: get some shrink wrap and do up the wires coming from the box, as there are three separate wires. The box also has a quick disconnect plug, so you can take it out if you're worried about getting it wet when you wash up your baby. Because it has exposed micro-switches, they recommend that you keep it dry. You can put it into a small case (like the ones that electronics wizards use for their projects), and it should be dry forever. Installation is easy and the instructions are good. (None of that "translated from Chinese to Apache, then English stuff"). The product is made in Australia. OK, that's enough. Good luck!

I do not see any reason for it yet. when I want a true reading I go for the GPS. May put one on still. I will ahve to look at the healer.

Thanks for the info rustman.

Hey NE, I'm as interested in keeping the mileage on the speedo correct as I am knowing my actual speed. With lowered gearing doesn't the mileage rack up faster than actual as well?

Yes that is true. Yopu can always go with 19/41 then the speedo is dead on.

The healer looks good for the price.

'Train, I have changed my rear sprocket to 43 tooth. Left the front at 17. I installed a yellow box at the same time I did the sprocket. I borrowed a GPS and found 17% error with the 43 and stock error. Plugged in the error into the yellow box and rechecked speed with GPS. It is now within .5 miles per hour at 70. It will differ a little at slower and faster speeds but I usually ride about 70 on freeway so wanted it accurate at 70. Easy to install per directions from manufacturer. I installed mine under the seat behind the battery. Used some padded 2 sided tape to insulate vibration etc. Instead of shrink wrap, I used coiled plastic wrap stuff to enclose box wires. Looks good and you wouldn't know from stock. Don't splice with anything but solder. The only way to make sure connections are solid. I will try to take a couple of shots and post when the stupid sun comes out again here. Needless to say I like the product. I thought about the speed healer, but decided on yellow box. Seems to be a little more slick. And the odometer is right now. It will add miles if the correction is not done.

how many needed in this "group" to get that deal?

I am using the speedo healer. Took about 15 min to install and works great and last long time. alittle cheaper that the yellowbox. There is a member here that sells them.

You can buy the speedohealer here
www.calsportbike.com
Also checkout http://www.speedohealer.com for all the info on it. I will be buying one in the next month or two. To cold here in Chicago now (8 degrees this morning) to do anything except look at the bike in the garage.

it says the speedo healer gets rid of your speed restriction??? does it act as a tre also??

It does not get rid of the restriction.  I copied the following from the speedohealer website.

Typical uses

-   Eliminating "factory inaccuracy", which may vary between 2% and 9%

-   Account for changes in tire size/profiles

-   Make gear ratio changes, such as sprocket conversions on motorcycles

-   By-pass the in-built factory speed limiter (not for Suzukis with Gear Position Sensor)

-   Mile or kilometer conversion on import vehicles

-   Adjust for new speedo face-plate with different scale

-   Requirement for absolute accurate odometer

-   Requirement to characterize the display unit of the vehicle (stability, error % and linearity

oh I was reading this

What do you gain with SpeedoHealer?

Accurate speedometer and/or odometer no matter what you change on your vehicle
Your odometer won't show more miles than you ride (RESALE VALUE!!)
Your top speed won't be restricted by the factory speed limiter
Optimal performance (certain vehicles require accurate speed signal to deliver the most performance)
Safety (modern vehicles equipped with ABS, ESP, Cruise Control, etc. require accurate speed signal for optimum execution)

from www.calsportbike.com

I believe that calsportbike.com did not finish their webpage with all the information. It does not bypass the speed restriction. I bought mine form boney1 and was delivered within 3 days.
