How Much For an '08 Busa?

I'm looking at an '08 Busa, black and grey with Yoshimura R77 full exhaust system, Pazzo shorty levers, smoke tail lights and custom mirrors. Bike has been garage kept and has 3700 miles, clean with no scratches or other damage. Current owner is asking $9000. Is that a fair price in this economy or should I wait for a better deal to come along? Location is Dallas, Texas so our year around riding season may be a factor.

If that's the color your looking for and like his choice of mods, then I'd buy it!!! And Yes there is always abetter deal!!!

used mint 08 should go for 8k to 9k,,, new 08 mid 10k ,,,,09 good luck maybe 11k 12k

8k to 9K, that would be for a stocker I presume? He's got some after market goodies on there I need to factor in as I would probably purchase them anyway, especially the Yoshi R77 exhaust. That's close to a grand by itself I would imagine. I think $9000 for the bike is OK, not a steal .....but OK.

I was talking to the local Suzie dealer last Saturday and he mentioned big increases for all Japanese imports coming. It is going to drive up the prices on leftover '08 models and will effect used prices. I'm stocking up on bikes now, they're not going to get any cheaper.

I paid $9500 3 weeks ago from Sarasota Suzuki in Forida for a left over 08 stock with 1 mile on it..

I paid $10,300 for same color '08 bike with 4miles on it just this month. Added Yosh R-77 for another $860, and if you add Pazzo levers thats another $179.

I think is a decent deal and probably worth $9k all day long. Esecially since '09 is $12k+ with no mods.

Definately checked if layed down, wrecked though.

Sounds like a steal to me on a bike worth ELEVENTY BILLION DOLLARS!!

Seriously though, with the mods it has, pending it has never seen the dirt or road, I think it's a pretty good deal. Most dealerships won't even come close to a deal like that for a stocker, let alone a modded bike. Sure, a new one is brand new, but what's the difference if the bike has never been abused or dropped...and you don't have to hold back during the whole "break in period".

Sounds like a good deal

That's what I'm thinking, I just looked at another black '08 bone stock with a scratched left fairing for $8500 and 7700 miles so this sounds like it's a better deal, set up the way I want itand less than half teh miles. He's in Oklahoma City 3 hours north but will trailer the bike down to me as part of the deal. I will call him tonight and get all the details. My main concern is does it have a PCIII with map for the R77 system.

Even if it doesn't have a power commander, I have read that it may not need it. And if it does. A power command is only like $250 - $275. Not gonna break the bank. I hear the ECU on the new '08 and '09 actually work well enough to get by without a Power Commander unless you plan on racing it at the track.

Thanks, that's what I need to know. The '08 and '09 ZX-14s are set up bloody rich on the top end to handle a full system without the need to remap but the Busa is new territory for me.

Not sure why you posted the thread John.

Sounds like you have already talked yourself into the deal.

BTW...pm sent. My veterinary hospital is just around the corner from you. Stop in and chat sometime. I can laugh at ya for paying too much bloody money for your bike!

Sounds pretty good I would still beat him up on the price. Pull out a bunch of cash usually works prob save at least 5 to 6 hundred. If you really like the bike and want it then put a smaller stack in your other poket just in case. Thats if you have the cash laying around usually works for smaller items. Remember cash talks good luck.

If in exceptional condition upon examination - I don't think it is a bad deal.

I will overpay a little for quality - and one day of riding is sometimes priceless to me. Is this the color you want?

I agree wholeheartedly, I'm one of those types that would rather pay a few extra bucks up front and get top quality then go the cheap route and have lots of problems later. I do like the black and with the R77 carbon on their it looks even better. Designer of the stock cans should be required to benchpress them forty times. Man are those things ugly! I am starting to second guess this deal though. If the bike were flawless then I could see giving him 9k but he told me this morning the right hand "custom" mirror ejected the glass while he was riding and damaged the front fender. :banghead:May have to offer him 8k and see if he goes for it.???
