Hey everybody,
I was wondering if anybody had any instructions or illustrations with pictures on how to change the fuel pump on the Busa. I might be getting a turbo (RCC), and I am doing a whole pile of research as i wanna do the install myself. I haven't looked under the tank at the pump yet, as it is -32oC right now and don't wanna play with the bike right now..(Can you blame me?).

Anywho, if anybody has any info or any links with info they could direct me to that would be great. Thanks a million guys, you rock.

Step 1 - Remove fuel
Step 2 - Disconnect pump
Step 3 - Remove screws (think its 5) attaching pump to tank
Step 4 - Remove pump from tank (may have to twist to get level indicator out)

Rather general, but it is about that easy.

Sweet, that seems pretty easy.

Okay, another question. How do I drain the fuel? Is there a drain plug by the fuel pump?? I know I know dumb question.

Also, do I need any special tools to disconnect the lines liek a car? Or are they pretty easy to take off? Thanks guys.

No special tools required. You can let the bike idle until the gas is gone or hook a hose into the pump, get it started and let gravity do the rest.

Hmmm, seems easier to go for a long ride and come home when the fuel light is on. It'll be like my last ride before she's boosted...lol. Thanks BigBSBusa.

That's what I did. Had to replace my fuel pump and rode until the light came on. Still ran for a couple hours before going completely empty.

I think its easier to just remove the tank then remove the fuel pump from the tank on a table

You can get a syphen pump for < $5 at most auto parts stores. Its alot quicker than letting the bike idle for hours to finish off the last of the fuel.

I know, Dennis, but I didn't realize at the time and didn't want to spend the money. Lesson learned.
