Hey guys,
It just came to me. Lets see if we could do a typical comparo like Kawi tends to do to make it fair.
1st. Lets bring in a professional dragracer who has plenty of saddle time in the 12. Ricky G comes to mind. Now lets put a typical smuck (ie Sportbike Magazine Editor) on the busa. Now lets fry as many clutches and tweek the ZX12 as possible giving it as many runs as they want. To make this fair lets give the busa 2 runs. Doesn't this sound vaguely familiar to the first 9 sec bike run by sport rider??? But hey the Kawi will (hopefully) win.
2nd. Let's knock off all this crap about doing top speed runs on the same day, ect. Let's run them fair. I think the only fair way to compare the two bikes top speed is to run the Busa 2-up and the Kawi 1-up. We all know that the Busa ins't a "racebike" like the kawi so it should be tested with a passenger. Now since the Kawi is a "racebike" we shouldn't test the bike 2-up.
3rd. If all else fails, we could run every test with the busa 2-up.
Maybe what Kawi meant to claim was that it could beat a Busa 2-up.
I wonder, with all the advertising claims Kawi has made about the ZX12 being the fastest bike in its class there are two things that come to mind: False advertising claims (lawsuits anyone??) or maybe it knew from the start that it wasn't in the same leage (class) as the Busa.
