[1127 TO 1299]

the ignition key (aka lock assemble), you know the thingy where you put your key in and turn to lock the steering or start de bike.

Now mine is busted, the steering is locked.

Will I be able to access the the bolts under it?

Will I need to remove the fairing?

Will I need to remove the triple clamp?

Will I need to bust it completely to expose the bottom of the cylinder so I can manually unlock the steering?

I looked in the Service manual, and there are not very specific nor helpful, or I simply didn't find exactly where to look.

According to page 6-31 and 32, the steering stem upper bracket needs to come off.

You will need to remove the uppper triple clamp, then you can accesss the security bolts on the bottom that hold it in. The question is, if the steering is locked, is any of this possible. I think it is.

You need to unbolt the top clamp and unbolt the cylinder with a security torx bit. The security torx has a hole in the middle and you can buy them at any autopart store.

I have torx bit but I am not sure if they have a hole in the middle for security.
